That is cool to hear, sometimes I don't get a lot of feedback on these types of videos, so it is hard to know if people are finding them helpful in any small way, so thanks!
Yayaayayay! We have a half success. The larger 2 items with supports printed great but the little tiny items didn’t - but they are in supported. I have not learned how to get supports to work because I have had failure issues since the beginning and gave up on trying for over a year and just came back to it this week. Your tip about speed 100% worked - now… to learn supports 😳🙄
Cheers for the tips. I use a 200x 200mm piece of glass and sand paper to sand my build plate as the glass is flat. I was surprised of all the high and low points on the build plate.
This was very cool. I will remember you made this vid for us. OH!! I almost forgot!!! A few clips ago you talked about different printer and the ups and downs about them. You got me thinking about, and researching them. Well, I've been talking to my godson (he's in his mid 20s now) and he has an extra 3D printer ("needs a little work") that he's giving me. How cool is that?! Just wanted to give an update on the search. Thanks for all the advice you give all us fans! YOU-DA-MAN
@@FacilityD20 Turns out it's the Resin vat. The screws aren't going down all the way and I hadn't noticed, so I had a leak. I either need new screws for it or a new base.
After looking at your Photon, I'm so glad I have an Elegoo Saturn. 3 out of the 5 things you mentioned can't happen with mine. (And my exposure time is 2.5 seconds max). My vat is huge compared to that, it has feet on the vat that interlock to the base, and even if I have one screw tight, it's good. I can leave the build plate loose though. In a year and a half I only had to level one of the two bases I use because I whacked it too hard with a hammer stripping parts. Nice video though! I'm sure it will help!
For sure I get that. I did upgrade my screen to a mono screen, so my exposure times are down to 2.2 at the moment. That was a cool video on here if you want to check it out as well
In the very beginning the lift speed was my issue once i resolved that i have almost zero issue with my resin prints. Although 2 times in the couple years of resin printing i forgot to make sure the build plate was tight. After taking the prints off i used to place the build plate back on the printer then to get it out of the way and forgot to tighten it. Now when i take prints off i always wipe the build plate clean then run my hand across the surface to feel any inperfections then put it back on and tighten it. i also have gotten in to the habit of checking the build plate before hitting print, but that is just me being paranoid now.
I got my GK Two dialed in and did 4 good print session, then on the 5th I started getting rafts stuck to the fep, setting hadn't changed, maybe the humidity level but it has a chamber heater under the vat and has been set to 35 degree C the whole time. I replaced the FEP but it may be too tight, the whole think creaks now when the plate cycles down and up during each layer.
You don't sandwich the fep sheet in between two pieces and then attach the assembly to the vat. You sandwich fep sheet between the vat with gasket and the retaining ring. You then bolt it up tight
Is that software at 0:34 Anycubic Photon Workshop, and if yes, which version is that? I've been trying to adjust my settings, but I can't find it on the one I have (V2.2.16), and I was thinking about downloading an older one from Anycubic's website (for some reason my Anycubic Photon does not support .pws files created in anything other than AP Workshop, which is a shame, bcs I find Chitubox to be more friendly to new users).
Oh the garbage ez bake oven I got already ripped up the bottom thing and then I was told I had to level it well it said it was self leveling so that isn't my job. it told me to clean out the resin too so I poured it into an old milk jug. I'm gonna use it again IDC if it has milk in it or the tub is ripped up. If it doesn't get that right I'm giving it the office space treatment.
Recently every plate i print (i fill the plate completely) i get 1 base of a mini that doesnt print the supports do and the base itself ends up sticking to the fep. Yet every other base printed comes out perfect lol.
Your 3D resin videos have really helped me get over the frustration I’ve had over the last year I’m trying to learn how to stop failures

thank you, you fix my bug, my lifting and retract speed was to fast. change it to a slower speed and from then 2 perfects print done.
You welcome
I can’t wait to try this!!! I’ve had soooo many issues with only supports printing due to a failure!
Just hit print! 9hrs we shall see if it finally printed something more than supports 😊😊
You got this! Let me know how it works out. I might be able to help if you are still having issue.
Keep me updated.

Some people say never sand the build plate, but if done correctly it is no big deal
I hope your solution fixes my mess! Very frustrating! THANK YOU! JUST JOINED!
Welcome to the facility. Hope it helps.
I learned a bunch! Great video! keep rockin' !
Thank you

Thanks kindly! That is really cool to hear. Let me know how the printer you are getting works out and if you have any questions
thanks for this... this helps me with my black resin that is extremely hard to print with
You're welcome
Just had a model come out with half his wings, I'm really hoping this helps. I'll update in... 13 hrs when the prints done.
hope so!

All of that sounds almost exactly like I do and have done... haha!

Did you tune your FEP when you replaced it?
Good stuff. Unfortunately the tuning thing isn't a issue for my printer. It has a different style vat than most other printers.
What printer do you have again?
@@FacilityD20 it's a Epax.

I belive it is Chitubox Pro

I feel ya pain! Lol
My problem Its when i print more of one image. One of them seems to mirror half of the original and comes to faliure.
Could be a slicer issue, try to update the program or use another slicer
my printer in some height printe large section than i wanted and it hangs to my model like a burr you know how to fix it ???
Sorry not really sure there
Recently every plate i print (i fill the plate completely) i get 1 base of a mini that doesnt print the supports do and the base itself ends up sticking to the fep. Yet every other base printed comes out perfect lol.
You need to up your exposure time a little, and then you need to slow your retraction speed by about 25%
@@FacilityD20 I'll give it a go, thx.
Game On sent me here, Is there an idiot proof beginner printer?
Nice! First question is what do you want to print with your printer?
