Hello Linda, Enjoyed your Cozy Nest Cottage costing out the build RUclips video. You really did your homework and learned the construction lingo. You put your money into the elements of your tiny cottage home with an emphasis on those things that are most important to you. Finding a builder that you can communicate with is essential. You have good negotiation skills. Your good at introducing your needs to the builder. You made it clear without being abrasive that you were considering g more than one builder and you liked their offer but you were also considering another builder who would include the installation of your ceiling fans in their price. We'll done! I agree projects developed from start to finish are very satisfying. It was critical that you choose a builder that would work with you. You did well and were smart to go stick built with 10 foot ceilings. Again you did well! Like everything the prices for tiny homes are all over the place. I would say research the cost of the materials and the cost of labor and permitting. How much profit is fair and does the bottom line include the warranty work? Value is an abstract term. But is the build satisfying and is that level of satisfaction measurable? I would try to find a contractor that has been in the industry a long time and has very few BBB complaints. The lord led you to the living arrangement that you have now. He wants you to be free and by that I mean debt free and free in spirit. It's very impressive that you researched the components which had to synchronize in order for you to have this home. You stuck to your plans which were also Gods plans and guided by him. You got it right Linda. Your living arrangements have fome full circle. The lord wanted you to have a castle and you have one. "By wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established" Proverbs 24:3.
You are very good (and kind) to walk through this process and costs. It’s a reality check since so many think tiny homes are far cheaper than they actually are. I love your new place. You really nailed the interior design, in my opinion!

My tiny home was $77K incl Land, but there is an HOA it incl. Water/sewer trash and basic cable, I'm recouping some of it by renting it for a bit til I'm full retirement age, maybe.
Linda when you talk about your ceiling height ,, I agree ..In your previous video when you had your neighbor film you ,you looked tiny inside your cottage..!!.. Lumber is still expensive..We just converted a two car garage into a room ..Materials are doubled From 4 years ago ..enjoyed listening 💙

Wouldn't it have been much less stressful and simple and cheaper to buy a tiny home already on land ? Or keep all the money and have plenty to spend while your in your car !

No as it is a variable cost that is as different as the build.. location, utilities.. I did many searches to find my “ball park” to know what I could expect.. and I had a figure in mind with or without utilities that I could afford. It’s a personal issue..
Stayed for the whole video just to hear how much it was at the end, and you didn't tell us.. You could've at least said it within a 10 to $15000 difference. If you didn't wanna say what it was. It's totally disappointing, and up setting.
I believe I provided plenty of inside information for you to be able to gauge what my home would cost. With that said I mentioned it is personal and with so many variables it doesn’t matter what I paid.. your decision. Certainly didn’t mean to upset you.
