I came back to enjoy the origins of Brick By Brick once again - I almost forgot the show used to take place here in the Abso offices. Then they all moved into Doug's house for a bit, then to the compound where it's been ever since. It's been there so long, I almost forgot the days when it was just Doug and Tim on Facebook - remember the random abusive callers??
We were watching the game and it was all comin down to the final play. The cheerleaders began to hype up the crowd so we could get our home team to make the play and win the game. Lion joined in the cheer first, but Scarecrow and I weren’t far behind. Something was missing though. I looked over to my metal friend who seemed unsure of what to do as he lacked the emotional engagement with the game the rest of the crowd had had at that time. I knew he wanted to join in so I whispered in his ear, “Just say ‘RAH’, silver man.”
There’s this John guy at my work that took off a couple weeks to go somewhere but nobody knew where he went, he didn’t tell anybody. Everyone was like “where did John Travolta?”
The Berger-esque Trump sound bites are genius for a podcast like this. Damn good episode jam packed of goofs, gaffs, and a few spoofs thrown in there even.
Most people only make jack o lanterns once a year around Halloween, but I love it so much i just buy a bunch and do it year round... yeah, there's almost never a Day Na Carvey
We had a science project at school where the teacher told us to clone a certain number of Martin Lawrence’s. I’m not too savvy with the fundamentals of cloning so I messed up. I presented my project to the teacher and the teacher said “you’re one Martin Short”
My best friend from childhood came to visit me over the weekend, we decided to go camping in the woods, brought all the gear and food and were just laying everything out when a black bear literally nabbed our stuff when we werent looking. So we eventually had to stay in a hotel, but i was strapped for cash. Luckily my friend is loaded and the next day on my way out i told the front desk to bill Murray.
Yeah he did, back in the early episodes because I remember them talking about the California wildfires and how it affected Eric's new wine business, but I think all those old episodes were lost when Feral Audio folded. They might still be in Facebook if you scroll way back?
The other day i was watching this live show where get really deep on history and stuff but they also take live calls on air. I was trying to get in but they werent answering. The phone was just ringing ringing off the hook. You could hear it in the back. I swear the whole show was just lore n my calls
I think the part when the caller made an SNL pun and Tim had a weird reaction is a very interesting situation worth analyzing because I don't think anyone did anything wrong. Think about it. A group of guys in a room are having fun sharing puns. They're in the midst of creating an inside joke, something that is naturally going to feel exclusive to them. And when a stranger calls in (whose face and body you obviously can't even see), no matter how funny his joke is going to be doesn't even matter, because he's barging in on their exclusive game. I'm probably just overthinking this but it seems so primal / a tribe mentality sort of thing to not want to welcome a total stranger in on the game. I doubt Tim felt he was being rude but I can understand the caller's reaction. But the odds are against him. Not only does he have to make a joke but he also has to initiate himself into a group he's never met. Maybe it's funny how hard I'm trying to analyze this, but come on. The social dynamic is genuinely interesting here
that eating crab leg shells bit (they talk about it being in Three Stooges at the start) was ripped off in Check It Out. I love that part in CIO but it's a pity it was ripped off.
Whenever I watch or re-watch Office Hours I don’t want to die anymore. Thanks y’all.❤️

Watching the progression of this podcast is just as fun as the podcast itself.
explain to me how the progression of the podcast differs from watching the podcast in chronological order
It’s easy to miss the progression if you only watch in chronological order

Tim really likes that Thompson guy. Sounds like he's pretty Keen-on Thompson

The show would've worked if Norm MacDonald was a guest
I started a charity after my brother Michael had a terrible bout of depression. It's very specifically targeted, it's only forlorn Michaels.

Poor audio guys.
