It was not only Americans that died. People from all over the world died that day. I am not talking about the terrorist, but there were people from other countries working in the buildings and on the planes. So you are concerned for the whole world.

My friend and I will be there this coming April and we discussed about going to the Memorial Museum. But now it seems it'll be too intense for us when in reality we just want to have a blast, be silly and enjoy our time there. First time visitors for both of us. Great video btw!!!

I visited the Reflecting Pools just hours ago and since this was the first time I visited New York, its also the first time I visited Ground Zero of 9/11… when I arrived there, I just stood there in silence since its very significance is so haunting.

I lived in New York and was in school during 9/11. When people say that time stopped and everyone remembers what they were doing during this time, they are not joking. I remember everything from class stopping to the teachers getting those big TVs they used to have, to kids hugging each other and teachers trying to explain the events to us. I remember the state being shut down for days. My dad was in the National Guard, and they were immediately activated to assist the clean-up efforts. It was truly a horrific time in America.

I read the book “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close”, and watched a documentary film about the twin towers recently. It’s terribly tragic 😢
    I can’t believe it.

Megan just finished up an incredible 5-day trip to NYC which was our first time there! Went to the WTC site and visited 9/11 memorial twice and felt so surreal and emotional actually being there. Will never forget it. Next time we make it there hopefully will visit the museum as well🙏🏾 and yes the Fulton subway station is huge and so convenient!

Witnessing 9/11 on television as a young girl, my soul has never gotten over what we here felt for our neighbours to the south in NYC. I visited many years ago when the site in construction for one world trade. Thank you for sharing this video, I want to visit now that it’s been been built and to finally pay respects.

Thank you Megan for this vlog! We are a senior couple from London, Ontario coming down on a bus tour Sept 11th to visit NYC. One of the inclusions on our tour is the 9/11 Museum and Memorial. This for us was the most important thing we wanted to do when we were looking at coming to NYC. I am sure it will be a highly emotional visit, but a way to pay our respect to all the lives lost on that day. NYC has been on our bucket list , and we are finally going to be able to see, feel, taste and experience a NYC minute! Your bubbly personality makes watching your vlogs a fun and informative insight into all aspects of a NYC visit! Also enjoyed your Central Park tour, which I think we will do also. Good job!

I was there on that site in 2016. I couldn't bring myself to go to the memorial or the museum. Now that I have watched a lit of videos and gotten a more comprehensive picture of the events and the aftermath I am ready to see things and hear about them. It is very sad. The resilience of those effected and the city of New York is very humbling.

Hi Megan, love the videos, can you answer a question please, you tube comments probably not the right place to ask this, I am just doing some research ready for my trip to NY in early March 2024, I have contracted COVID over Christmas so nothing better to do than watch you tube 😊 my son is coming with us and wants us to have a trip to Philadelphia to see the Rocky Steps and statue, very touristy sorry 😊 do I need to pre book a train before I get to New York or just turn up at Penn station on the day. Sorry for the long winded question. I love the summer videos you do in NY reminds us that better times will be back. Thanks Lee & Vikki. Uk. 🇬🇧

You SHOULD be able to buy train tickets relatively last minute. I've not personally taken the train to Philly, but I have plenty of times to DC. What you might want to check though is the prices change closer to the travel date. Amtrak to DC gets more expensive closer to the travel date and the least expensive tickets are early out.

Went there at night and it was so quiet and peaceful but sad at the same time. Couldn’t get tickets to the free day. Seems the website’s doesn’t work. The subways station is huge, I remember walking it and thinking where is the exit 😅

Thank you for this thorough tour! Some good news as of last month: construction on 5WTC will commence early next year, and as 6WTC is the internal Port Authority designation for the Performing Arts Center, the complex could soon be said to have 7 buildings once again.
I'd like to note that Liberty Park sits atop what was a parking lot and the irreparably damaged (and now-demolished) 130 Liberty (aka the Banker's Trust or Deutsche Bank building), only being added to the 16-acre site after 9/11, just as 7WTC had been added in the late '80s.

"How to Visit". I hoped learning more about the etiquette when visiting but watching the people in this video I guess there are none? Dresscode, lighting candles, rules on taking photos etc... would be nice if someone could weigh in on that.

    • @jtgd
      @jtgd 4 месяца назад

You can go there dressed normally.
Candles? Probably not. However it’s okay to bring some flowers or item significant to the victim.
You can take photos anywhere except 2 specific areas INSIDE.
One is the north tower exhibition, the second is the “in memoram” room. Both are under where the towers stood, and the latter is a memorial for the victims
