I have bought vol1 and 2 of your books Adam. Like your channel they are terrific. Each concept is beautifully presented and is clear and easy to follow and the exercises and Q and A reinforce the learning so well! Loving your nan 😀 - hoping she's loving your books as much as me
Hey Adam, Thank you so much for your content! I recently started following you and have already learned a lot. You make everything so easy to understand, and I really appreciate your time and generosity in sharing your knowledge. I was wondering if you have any videos on modal changes or something similar, as I haven’t seen one in your collection. Thanks again!
Hey! Great video, Adam! Thanks so much for putting that together. This is EXACTLY the sort of thing I’m looking for. I usually have time to play at night, before bed, when it’s quiet in the house and the family is off to sleep. Being able to play like that, where I can make stuff up on the spot and luxuriate in gorgeous sounds is amazing. I’m usually too tired to put in hard practice on a piece at those times, so having this sort of technique to work on is really spot on. I’ll look forward to more videos on this topic! (Oh, and thanks for the photos of your nan! That was super cute)
Hi Adam, I love all of your videos, and have bought both books. Would be great to include triplets in some videos (I include these in my scales practice). Different time signatures would be great as well. I love 5/4 and would love ideas to improvise over this and others in the future.
WOW 🔥🔥You are truly an INCREDIBLE TEACHER 🎉🎉 🎉 Clear, concise step by step instructions to get us to the next level at whatever stage we’re at. Thank you! You are a LEGEND
Holy man WWAAAWW, you always surprise me the way you teach us. At the start of your videos it looks quite complicated and at the it “looks” much simpler than expected. Other question, do you have a server where I (we) can download your videos ? I like to have them on my iPad, it’s much easier to study than watching on YT.
Thank you Adam, another fantastic video to give me hours of fun at the piano. I’ve also just ordered Vol 1+2 of your new books. If they are as good as the content on here, (and I’m sure they will be awesome), then you have given me what I have been looking for to progress in my musical journey. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Adam, Love this type of lesson all new ideas I can try and create a nice sounding practice routine. I notice there are no B GAGA's (technical term apparently) 😂You are a very good tutor and your RUclips followers etc success is well deserved. Well done.
Thank you, Adam! I've bought the books and am working my through. This video was fun - but I find the rhythm part difficult( when you say 'whatever you do, you better make sure you play on the beat.... i'm not sure how to do that - you make it look effortless of course! :) . Do you have a video just on rhythm?
Hi Elizabeth, hope you're enjoying the books! I'm planning on making some more specific videos on rhythm - but two videos currently on the channel are this one: ruclips.net/video/EsSecYkBDR8/видео.html&ab_channel=TheKeysCoach And also this one: ruclips.net/video/2etq-8HSFJA/видео.html&ab_channel=TheKeysCoach I'm planning on more in the future!
Maybe I’m odd, but I like that tri-tone you warn us off. In fact, I like dissonance as much as vanilla music. I once briefly shared a flat with a symphony orchestra double bass player (who played jazz in his downtime) and he says classical players call all that atonal stuff ‘squeaky gate music’. Love it, don’t have a clue what it ‘means’ or what the composer is trying to ‘say’, and don’t ‘understand’ any of it, but (copyright Thomas Beecham) I love the sound it makes. Great and useful technique in this video. Could you at some point extend it to other modes (which I do now understand and don’t scare me off as they once did)? And thanks, really useful videos for this would-be keys player, with a long way to go. PS It’s just occurred to me that quite a few piano players are not going to thank you for demystifying it all (which really what you are doing). Watch your back and steer clear of knives.
ok, so nothing about piano. i am British, but away overseas at the moment. missing home like mad. seeing your nan made me miss home more. she is adorable. hope she is fit and well.
Hi Pamela - so glad you're enjoying the videos. So if you're in the US, I'd recommend checking this site here: www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/product/theory-for-rock-pop-musicians-volume-1-22845884.html Could you let me know if that works well for US distribution. Hope you enjoy them!

J'aime vraiment beaucoup vos leçons . Les explications sont très claires et exprimées avec un tel enthousiasme !...

Adam, you're a genius because you suddenly bring musical concepts into reach that initially seem impossible for beginners like me.
I love your piano lessons !

Applied twice and did not receive the improv guide. 😢
