I love how the vets Tom and Tony bring in these young guys and gals to the table and give them the floor to explain their data backed research. They don't treat them like juniors and expand on their research with their own thoughts. It's a fresh take from the talking heads on CNBC.

Thats true, I've been getting assisted by a FA for almost a year now, I started out with less than $200K and I'm just $19,000 short of half a million in profit.
My portfolio has good companies, however it has been stalling this year. I have approximately $600k stagnant in my reserve that needs growth.

This was some good research on the market's concentration, really insightful , especially on companies that stay in the top ten for a decade, good to know if you're a longer-term value investor and trader.

If the "top 10" were only 2%, they wouldn't be the "top", they'd just be the same as the other 490
You are right, I think he made a mistake on the first slide. 10 stocks out of 500 is 2%, not 5%

Just because a company drops out of the "top 10" by market cap in the S & P doesn''t mean that the price has fallen. The possibility that other companies came along and grew much faster is very real, consider Nvidia as an example in the recent past.

10 stocks out of 500 isn't 5% of them guys, lol, the point still stands of course, but this lads inability to do a proper pie chart doesn't really instil confidence

Very interesting. This seems to support the approach to limited fund options in 401k index investing of buying the total stock markets funds rather than only the S&P500 funds for 401k vehicles?

Why you took 2023 mstkry caps? Use today’s market cap and the concentration is even greater
