    I am a realistic Texans fan. I think part of the reason they did so well last year was because they had the second easiest schedule in the league. Their schedule will be much more difficult this year. I see them as a 10 win team, who get to host a wildcard game, and then after that, who knows? Maybe they go all the way, but maybe they are not quite "there" just yet. I don't think it is even a guarantee that they win the division. The Jags are not exactly slouches, and I think people may be sleeping on the Colts, big time. I think it's going to be really tough.

      We've been through so many rough seasons that we can't help but feel skeptical that we can make it there. However, I was feeling excited in the Watson, Hopkins, Watt, Fuller era. This team surpasses that by a considerable margin. So I'll allow myself to get my hopes up for an AFC Championship appearance this season.

While also beating winning teams like colts Bucs Jags Bengals Broncos hot streak, ect.

    Very nice overall summery of where they were and where they may be going (and why). An in-depth look at the overall impact of the Deshawn Watson trade might be really interesting after this season (i.e. who they ultimate got for that trade, and how much that contributed). It's easy to be both excited, and a bit apprehensive given how difficult the schedule appears now. We can't predict who remains healthy and who is left to play as the season goes on. This team isn't a paper tiger, and despite the schedule, if all the pieces come together, and remain healthy, you have to be optimistic about the possibilities. I agree with your prediction, but then no one saw C.J. Stroud's 1st year accomplishments coming with the pieces he had (and no running game for much of the season). Nicely done.

Nothing is guaranteed in the nfl but thats my take on things, i dont want to get my hopes up to have them fall and tumble like in previous seasons. Been a somewhat slow rebuild (if you take it from Jan 2021 when NC joined), guys like JOrdan + Collins were taken in 2021, have had some picks not work out for various reasons (Green, Pitre to an extent). BUt by in large we've got a core group of young guys who are only getting better. Big swing made going for Stroud and WAJ but its absolutely worked out. Feels nice that the future is bright for the Texans after a few years of real dross

    • @RyanBoonslokovich
      @RyanBoonslokovich 26 дней назад

      Interesting take. I’ve been thinking about this a lot. How the rebuild went. It’s like the Bill O’Brien reign ending in flames began what was a 3 year rebuild of drafting essentials, dumping money, and basically tanking. I think the rebuild truly began when they drafted Mills and Collins. Like Caserio and co rebuilt for their eventual head coach and cornerstone positions (QB, CB, DE.). I’ve seen some people say they’re still rebuilding but that could just be saltiness because the Texan’s being ready would mean that their favorite team’s window appears to be closing. The majority of people that I’ve come accross believe that the Texans are primed and ready. Meaning that the rebuild is complete and undoubtedly successful.

    Not trying to hate. But. Nothing has happened yet. We can’t say there gonna be great for years. Stroud could have a soft-more slump, or he gets hurt and is lever the same. NFL changes so fast, year to year, the Texans could be SuperBowl Contenders or they could absolutely implode. You never Know.

    • @dumpsterfirefrl
      @dumpsterfirefrl 27 дней назад +6

      It’s sophomore slump. Yeah, Mahomes could also get injured? Or Burrow like last year? It happens. Point is Texans are just opening their SuperBowl window. They have a competitive 2-year window with how the contracts are constructed and they haven’t mortgaged their future yet like other teams have done. (i.e., Bills, Jets, Browns, etc.)

      @kevinevans8892 27 дней назад +5

      @@dumpsterfirefrlthe point is, slow down the hype train. Texans barely got into the playoffs, having to stave off Minshew and the colts who beat them in week 2 with Anthony Richardson. Richardson is back and Tennessee has improved. Houston might not even win the south. Their ceiling is 9 wins. Floor is 7 wins.

    If the Texans had a QB that was at Dak's level, I would say they have a shot at the Super Bowl. Stroud showed some promise last year but I just don't think he has that x-factor that will will his team to the top.
