im going back in malaysia soon...i love malaysia so much...i been there last oct.2016...nice place, nice people...:D see you again malaysia :D from: philippines :D
80% voices I've heard in this video were in Filipino spoken by filipino immigrant. They were suluk, bajau filipino and some sulawesian indonesian. They occupy almost all area at the market and I also heard local Chinese & chinese tourist. In the vege & meat market I rarely heard sabahan malay spoken by a dusun & filipino with their own dialect of malay.
Your opinion is not all right. they speak in the dialect of their tribe. when talking with others tribes, they would speak Malay. Malay tribe in Sabah is not so much. kadazan, dusun, bajau tribes are sabah local tribes. of course they speak according to their respective languages or dialects.
Great job, KK just has it all, wonderful islands close by, great shopping, lots of fresh fish in fishmarket, good food stalls, green & developed city, and great hotels with swimming pools.
Watching in 2020. That's why I found not so clear video. You improve a lot all these year. Keep it up. Hope everything is going good in these critical period. Hope we will explore new country new city very soon. Take Care. Regards from N.Y
i like this kind of video, simply walking in town cam in hand, sometimes it's as informative about the local life as a full documentary with explanations :) Thanks for all your videos!
wowww a lot of changing right now haa??,,since 2010 my last visit Kota Kinabalu and Miri 2012 my last visit I watching your video see they changing so fast,,,well done,,oct 2015
I suggest you should do some 360 degree view instead of just straight forward. for example at 25:30 segama waterfront, if you turn around 360 degree, you can capture the famous fish monument and Hyatt Regency. Thank you for the hard work
I have hoped for a narration as to which street you are, the landmarks, so as to give idea to those who are coming to the place. Or at the very least a starting point. I will be there next year and I'm mapping out where to set my tripod for some good landscape and urban shoots. Nevertheless, it's still a good video.
mr colijn next time walk in Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan so much to see what a beautiful beach over there near to the city area,,,thks a lot,,my suggestion,,hihih
+Chingy !!! those filipinos were illegal immigrant and children of those immigrant. They influx the immigrant population here since 1970s when war broke out in southern Philippines. They re not native of sabah. There have been some protest by native for dissatisfied of government management of this illegal immigrant influx. Native peoples want government to send back those illegal back to their country.
Really? I mean, it is just concrete on concrete. New buildings, that's all, I don't see anything interesting in what I saw in that part of the town. I guess the european point of view on what is nice (better) and what is not differ a bit from asian's. 😀
Great video, I had a question for you though. What was your experience of the city? This is one of the places I may be sent to in a year to live for a year as part of a volunteer network. Did you like it? I noticed a lot of people smiled and waved at the camera.
The U.S. Has always taken heat for its auto dependency, yet these cities that I've been able to observe anywhere, except perhaps Hong Kong with with, it appears, a bus for every citizen, are just as auto dependent with the attendant congestion and noise. Just saying.

cth2206 i could do that , but it would take away the feeling you are walking there yourself , choices have to be made
I strongly agree with cth2206: who walks without taking opportunity to look around? It would give more relaxed feel to your film.
Thank you Colijn . This video very nice .
