Sadly it's the same here in Germany. Maybe good quality, but as long as the price is double or even triple the price than you pay for (f.e.) EHEIM, I just can't afford it (beside that they are not sold here). ADA Soil for sure, some use ADA Lily pipes as well, but 500 Euro (615 Dollar) for the Solar 1? The only "Amano-thing" I spend my money for was the tank itself from the same company than builds the Amano tanks - but they make them just a few kilometers away from here, so that doesn't count!
your right ..i have bought filters from a web site in germany called aquaristic . net ...the filters came in about 4 weeks and were around one third the price i would pay in australia ,including the postage! i will never buy a filter here again....regards..marty
Or you can buy an ehiem 2213 for almost 1/10th the price. Replace the tube with clear tubing and get glass lily pipes and bam, pretty much the same thing.

Its look really like a DIY filter when i first see it. I'd rather buy a Eheim.
