Dude I love Narrow Margin! Awesome film! Just upgraded it to 4K myself (I already have the previous Kino blu-ray, but now I'm waiting for the 4K to arrive). Being a big Gene Hackman fan, I think he was fantastic in this. BTW, congrats on your Kino partnership man... that's huge! Way to go!
Kino is my top 2 label for sure. I really only pick up there release in sales but I easily have over 50 releases. They are killing it this last year. Awesome video Ken
Ken, check out No Way Out with Gene Hackman, Kevin Costner, and Sean Young from 1987. It's a spy thriller set in Washington, D.C., Pentagon. The new KL 4K UHD edition.
Die Hard takes place on Christmas, has Christmas music cues during the score, has actual Christmas music, the characters mention Christmas. But in the end it's just an action movie that takes place on Christmas not a Christmas movie. Lethal Weapon and Gremlins have similar Christmas themes. Die Hard has more Christmas stuff than those movies. But none of them are Christmas movies I would say.
Narrow margin is one of my favourite gene hackman movies...another good gene hackman movie to check out unless you have seen it Ken is the package which also stars Tommy Lee jones directed by Andrew davis who did the fugitive, under siege, above the law, code of silence, chain reaction, collateral damage, the guardian, a perfect murder, holes
Never miss a video but easy on the spoilers-Hackman hanging off a train at the end-she’s trying to land a plane at the end…yes, older films but haven’t seen them-I realize it’s difficult as a reviewer-just food for thought 😊
@DavidLodico-q6h if you haven't seen a 35 year old film yet and care about spoilers you shouldn't be watching this video. I never watch a review of a movie i havent yet.
@@DavidLodico-q6h Sorry, I try to not give specifics, but I will talk about certain things from time to time. Everyone has their own threshold for what they consider a spoiler though, so it’s tough to navigate.
Narrow margin was great! Deserves to be talked about more. Blown away was cool, just don’t expect too much. Bad Lieutenant just isn’t great though, that car scene with the two girls that goes on for like 5 minutes was just so stupid and drawn out, and basically the whole film is like that.
I enjoyed Blown Away. How can you go wrong with Tommy Lee Jones playing an Irish guy trying to fake an American accent? Kino seems to have found their niche with forgotten or underrated 90s/2000s drama, action, and thriller movies. Better than the total randomness of somebody like VS.
@midlevelmedia Brian Bosworth only starred in mostly dtv movies but Lance Henrickson deserved an Oscar for Stone Cold. Bosworth is a cop infiltrating a biker gang and it's an awesome piece of 90s action cheese.
Hey Ken....just a clarification regarding "In & Out". Kevin Kline's mother is played by Debbie Reynolds.....not Sissy Spacek. Debbie Reynolds is most famously known for "Singing In The Rain" and of course is the real mother to Carrie Fisher (aka Princess Leia)......but you probably knew all that already). "In & Out" is one of my favorite movies.....Luv Joan Cusack in this movie......she is hysterical!!! I saw this one in the theaters.....the 90's movies were the best and this one was definitely ahead of it's time!!! Thanks again for everything you do!!! Happy holidays!!!
Hey Ken. Great video. Bad Lieutenant - hard movie to watch. I had major ‘Uncut Gems’ vibes. I feel both leads (Keitel & Sandler) should have had Oscar nods. Blown Away - I hadn’t watched this since VHS days. Wanted to like it - didn’t. So much potential. Loved seeing Lloyd and Jeff Bridges together. In & Out - Another I haven’t seen since VHS. Always thought it was a funny movie. The ‘gay’ stuff was secondary, as it should be. Make me laugh. Turbulence - have not watched. Directed by the fella who did a lot of episodes for Batman ‘66
I recently picked up the original INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS on Blu-ray (with slipcover!) and DEEP STAR SIX on Blu from Kino. I have a bunch of other Blus and 4Ks from KL, as well, but a lot of their transfers are provided by another studio, so it's hit or miss with the quality.
Debbie Reynolds, not Sissy Spacek, plays Kevin Kline's mom. You remember her from the classic Singin' In The Rain. I really liked the movie, but thought it was a bit on the dumb side. But otherwise harmless.
Dunno if I’d call twelve years after he was in Fast Times at Ridgemont High ‘early’ Forest Whitaker, but yeah that flick was odd. The bomb squad don’t do any background checks? Jeff Bridges lost his accent as an adult? Meh.
Turbulence is now on 4K from Kino Lorber and Ray Liotta's 70th Birthday was 9 days ago he will be 70 years old if he was alive and ken you know the film Something Wild that star Ray Liotta and was somewhat the influence for GTA VICE CITY because Vice city took place in 1986 and Something Wild was released in 1986 could be a secret reference from the devs at Rockstar Games also Criterion should do a 4K UHD release of Something Wild with Ray Liotta because that movie is a real Time capsule of the 1980s because it features Mrs Pac Man in one scene a very 80s film indeed that should needed a 4K upgrade from The Criterion Collection by now also great video and Criterion should release a 4K of Something Wild by now.
@@midlevelmedia Have you seen Something Wild is a real 80s classic that had Ray Liotta in it Criterion should do a 4K UHD release of it just like they did with Repo Man and what do you think of a brand new 4K UHD release of Something Wild from The Criterion Collection or let Kino Lorber put it out on 4K themselves like they did with Silence Of The Lamb (also directed by Jonathan Deme) Something Wild is a true 80s classic that needed a 4K release also this is one of my favorite Ray Liotta movies alongside Goodfellas but it's better than Goodfellas and it's a movie that no one even talk about and that's a shame also ken you like Something Wild send me your reply.
Judgment Night starts off like it's going to be badass, but it gets progressively more moronic as it goes on. I recall telling my wife "Damn, this is gonna be awesome" and then we essentially both stopped watching it after the 30 min mark. I also found Blown Away to be "meh". Which was disappointing because it looked awesome.
Ken, some dude is trying to pick fights w/4k collectors so he can get views and try to get subs. The guy doesn’t believe in himself enough not to wear sunglasses. He hides behind dark sunglasses-too funny! Not making that up. The guy is such a douche. He is even creating accounts and attacking creators. I’m gonna block the guy after my comment on his channel sits for awhile lol.
There was a video from another channel where somebody said everybody getting free copies is a shill mentioning Mid Level Media as an example. Ken now gets free review media from Kino Lorber. So a horde of angry losers uses this video to spam the comments with their narrative.
Blown away was ok at best but not a movie I would watch again & narrow margin is a very good underrated thriller that more people should see. And bad lieutenant is a dark griddy thriller that is pretty good. Frogs is a pretty good 1972 horror movie that is worth seeing. Fun fact and speaking of Uncut Gems - Abel Ferrara is in the early Safdie Brothers movie “Daddy Longlegs”!

I recently watched Leviathan on 4k from Keno Lorber and it's super good 👌 I need to watch more 4ks from Keno Lorber I have which is lots of them
