      Most routes do not have the WR coming back for the ball. A curl route and comeback route are similar but two completely different routes. A curl route u run about 5-10 yards then you turn around and the ball should already be headed your way as you turn around. A comeback is you go 5-10 yards then run back towards the ball. No one should ever come back to the ball when running a curl route. Your supposed to turn around and stay right there. Problem with Dak is he’s always late on his throws so then people want to blame the WRs for not coming back to the ball when they aren’t even supposed to come back to the ball cuz there timing routes. Enough with that Dak excuses already. Getting pathetic

      @@SwitchShmup Dak does throw them open when they run the proper route and give him an opening to. The offense was to predictable, no up field treats and piss pure effort sometimes from receivers. CD Lamb is learning to be a #1, there was no true #2, no over the top speed, no consistency with the running game, the offense as a whole was a hot mess.

  • @CowboyPrestige101
    @CowboyPrestige101 Год назад +68

    McCarthy hit the nail on the head with the issues when explaining moving on from Kellen. No one denies there was huge numbers from the offense. But it was obvious as the season went on and you got to the playoffs. There wasn't any attempt to play to strengths. There weren't any attempts to shake things up.
    Dak is best when playing with a clean pocket and making quick passes. All the advance stats show this, so it was wild Kellen chose wayyyy more advanced routes and longer developing plays inconsistently. Honestly I am interested heavily in what Mike is gonna install, because that type of offense is what Dak puts up monster numbers in. Another issue was the refusal to switch up with runs. There were times where Kellen got waayyyy too cute with the play calls.
    Simply put Dal is a damn good QB. While he isn't generational, you don't need to be to win a super bowl. You just need more pieces and coaching around you. That isn't a problem at all. I do believe this team was a legitimate number 2 receiver and a solid Number 2 corner away from advancing to a championship game last year.

      They also need to spread out all the receivers, now that we have Brandon cooks and another tight end from the draft we should be able to flex them out with all the receivers we have, I notice in the good games that we have we were being flexible and not just having 3 main receivers. Don’t get me wrong lamb is damn good but there are also good corners too. In that 49ers game cee dee lamb was open but right next to him was t.y Hilton and he was open for that td but dak was sure that lamb was going to catch that cuz that’s his main man. Having multiple main players that can make plays is all we need to improve there offense. Defensively we are good, but the corners is what we need the most. We have some now because of the Gilmore so hopefully we get more in the draft tomorrow. Like you said I would like to see how this offense would be without kellen more, but as far as the quarterback situation, half the int wasn’t his fault but that doesn’t change the fact that dak could do better at looking for openings. What I mean by that is not being focused on 1 or 2 receivers.

They are stupid with it most of the time, the guy is not a first round talent. If he was he would have gone in the first round like the two bums that did who washed out. These idiots think playing QB is easy because 4-5 guys make it look that way, they have no idea how much responsibility a QB has to handle prior to snapping the ball. The coverage and the read? How many seconds have gone by since the snap? A number of the "not Dak" picks on your list came from Dak making bad reads and coming back late across the field. For example, If you EVER throw after the WR breaks on any comeback route, which Dak did pretty regularly, it's a QB mistake.

    Part of the issue here is the archaic Jason Garrett vertical route concept passing game. All Moore did was add more bunch formations, more trips and twins formations, etc while the route concepts and offensive philosophy. The DB's know that the WR's are either going to carry then vertically or run stick routes in between the numbers or comeback routes outside the numbers. The vertical route concepts are some of the least efficient routes one can run because the more vertical routes (go's, seams, skinny posts, etc) are longer routes that have a lower completion % and the shorter routes (curls, hitches, comebacks) are more easy to complete, but they don't provide much in the way of YAC and have a higher frequency of being intercepted and getting pick 6's.

Receivers get bumped and off route, good QBS recognize it and don’t throw the ball to them. It’s not like he slipped after or as the ball was being thrown. Dak stares him down and throws it to him when Shultz was stuck in traffic. It’s on Dak for thinking Shultz could still get to the spot.

    I hate to say this but I looked at other qb's with high interceptions and you could say a lot of their interceptions weren't the qb's fault either. The question isn't whether Dak can minimize his interceptions, it whether Dak can see the field better and go to the right person when it matters. Like when he overthrew Gallup in the 49er's game for a give me touchdown. Dak's real problem is not playing well when it matters. The only playoff game where he looked great and lost was his first playoff against the Packers.

    I do like the video breaking down who made the mistake, but I also want to point out, other QBs still have "not at fault" picks in their INT count. Bottom line to me is that Dak played poorly this past season and he needs to show up if he's going to take that much money from the cap. I've been a big Dak defender since they moved on from Romo, but if I have to be honest, I did say they made a mistake moving on from Romo during Dak's first season because I still believe Romo is the better QB of the two.

    Dak is always late because he processes info slow, holds the ball to long, isn't accurate with throwing to the proper side of the WR. Misses a lot of wide open guys, meaning don't even see them. Less Dak would equal better results. Dak needs a strong running game. He was one of the best protected QBs, 31st sacked. He isn't a player that can carry a team, which means Jerry got robbed for paying him but great job by Dak's agent for robbing Jerry.

    @louiegonzalez7502 Год назад

    I disagree.
    In my professional couch-arm quarterback opinion, closer to 5 not his fault, and 10 his fault - and that's being generous. Every QB in the league has INT's where its off the receivers hands/chest, I'd say at least 1-3 times a year on average. You say the receiver didn't run the route right or half assed the effort... I say Dak didn't recognize he shouldn't have tried to fit the ball in a spot that wasn't there. Lack of recognition, slow to dissect plays, which in turn cause late throws to a closing/closed windows instead of an open one. He's terribly inconsistent with the deep ball - even on shorter passes. He makes simple pitch and catch scenarios difficult for receivers too often with inaccuracy, disallowing receivers to catch while running in stride. And I don't know about you, but I prefer taking a sack over an INT. He was flat out just more careless with the ball this past year. There shouldn't be excuses for it. I do, however, expect him to bounce back after an off year. As I do not believe him to be a turnover machine. But I also don't expect him to be the QB he is paid to be. I never wanted the Cowboys to pay him. Each year he proves to me why I feel I was right about that decision. Make no mistake, I'm not saying there weren't other players that contributed to the interceptions or not at fault. I'm just saying, Dak is being paid to be the guy that makes the decision based on factors that determine the outcome of the play at hand. And last year, he made too many decisions that ended with a negative outcome.
    That's the truth we've been witness to.

I feel that CeeDee Lamb is at best a #2 WR and NOT a number 1.... i feel that Dak has gotten way better as a QB bc when he 1st got here he just use to dump the ball off to Zeke and Zeke did the rest which made Dak look really good stat wise....but i like Dak now. Watching some of these routes being ran with the exception of Michael Gallops ..... was horrible. You gotta run the route all the way through. Mike gets a last yr pass bc he is coming off a torn ACL so he wasn't confident and his leg mentality was not right even though the doctors say it fine after 9mths....its not no matter how much rehab you do. 3. Daks Fault. NO ITS NOT A SHULT ERROR. Again Dak literally threw it directly to there Safety.
    4. Daks Fault. Even if CD flattened out that route. Dak STILL AGAIN threw it directly to there safety.
    5. Daks Fault. Under thrown ball. Tipped in the air INT.
    6. Daks Fault. Another crappy under thrown bad accuracy pass.
    7. Daks Fault. Still forced a pass even tho Gilmore had him covered like a blanket with 0 separation but Dak forced a bad pass.
    8. Daks Fault. Eyed down the receiver. Tipped ball INT
    9. Not Daks fault. Looked like elbow was hit while throwing the ball.
    10. Dak Fault. No his arm was not hit. It was a bad double pump and cause him to throw it bad after he fakes a pass and it and it sailed on him.
    11. Not Daks fault. Noah Brown forgot how to play football for a second. Thought he was playing hot potato.
    12. Daks Fault. No explanation needed
    13. Not Daks Fault. Hendershot forgot how to catch.
    14. Daks Fault. If Shultz has 0 Separation and is being covered like a blanket. Why is her forcing it in there. To make it worse. Dak had a clean pocket and didn’t even have to throw the ball.
    15. Daks Fault. Me explanation needed.
