The writers must have been drinking bottles of wine and reminiscing about their own sad love stories to write an ending like this after we suffered through four incarnations. I absolutely loved the actors/acting. I sometimes forget I am watching a show. It felt so real!

nope, moral of the story is that their supposed emperor of the heavens was an idiot who blamed everyone besides the actual villains involved, they need to vote in someone new stat because he clearly has no idea how to do his job and gets easily tricked by idiotic villains. (also, writers just love messing with viewers, and it's the viewers' fault because they find plain fluffy happy endings boring 😭😭😭)

I didn't expect that ending... As many, I wanted to watch Dragon king and his lover get married with awesome clothes and so on..I felt sad at first but, 🤔🤔🤔 their souls are together forever in their own world ... so that means they do not part anymore and they don't have to fight dragon-human prejudice 😍😍😍 Great acting for everybody 👏👏👏
well I think if you marry for the party and the clothes this is just a plastic show off..if you love someone for real you just want to be together and even a marriage is not necessary nor important..it's just a formality
At the beginning, I also feel very upset about the ending. However, after going back to all the details from the beginning of the series, I found this is a perfect ending. At EP.04, Dragon King mentioned that there is no justice in the heaven either. For that reason, at the end, their 2 souls can live happily together in the World created by Xue Quiangxun is where they won't suffer from the injustice and the rules between mortal, demons, and immortal. There is no more Heavenly emperor on top who tortured them.

Until I found these wonderful Chinese drama's been watching them since last year and I've not been disappointed yet just proves it doesn't need all the sex/nudity to put in the movie's the makers of these series are brilliant thanks for all your hard work and there's enough of them to see me through well done xx

Each one of their love stories is Corrupt and wanted your emotion. Don't give in to that reality bcz you could be sucked in it. I'm putting an emotional distance if it happened to be that I was curious in their series. The communist government didn't want their people to be happy and wanted to control them. Bottomline is you've gotta be careful with their emotional trap through movies

TLDR: Please don't let this kind of comment stop anyone from watching and enjoying dramas like this. As someone who's watched a lot of K-dramas, and now C-dramas, I have to say that the latter is far better in terms of story and romance. TV shows always want your emotions, there's no reason to make them otherwise. Even now, some people might even say that a happy ending is cliche and overrated/overdone. In my eyes, despite the ending being average, the story has been one hell of a rollercoaster from episode 1 and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching these characters grow and experience all these events. Perhaps it could be reflected in life, and that the end may not be glamorous or great, but what we have gone through is priceless and honourable. P.S. if you want a historical, fantasy drama that has a happy ending, I suggest you watch Eternal Love of Dream. It has the same icy faced immortals, and cute love stories, and even cuter babies (ok, 1 baby but he's adorable). I doubt this is the only one that has a good ending, but don't let me stop you from enjoying all the happily ended stories that are worth your time. Another one, although not fantasy, is the Long Ballad, which is a great, heart moving story about a princess that finds purpose, and a handsome lover along the way. This one has no future episode (with kids) but the main characters find peace. Another good happy end is The Romance of the Tiger and the Rose, very cute. Oh, don't watch Prodigy Healer. The ending was terrible, and I felt like it was a waste of time. But I can't say I blame the communist mentality/party for it. Some stories, some writers, are just lacking. I had to write this, just to say that your comment really undermines the great story telling and character development that make you think just a little more about life, and what it means to be human. But, I mean, its a show. To use politics to deter people from enjoying their time and relaxing is a bit unnecessary, don't you think?

It's been 2 weeks since I finished the drama - this amazing soundtrack will always be nostalgic. I don't think I can bear to watch the leads with any other leads for a long long time (they are made for each other - sob..). I think this ending is best. Their spirits are soaring together now. A sequel may not do this justice - I will just keep this love alive in my heart.

For me, this is the best C drama I have ever seen. I have never watched a C drama that made me love the main couple so much so that I didn’t even mind watching them even when they were just standing there staring at each other. Every moment is so sweet, so pure, so gentle, so beautiful. Other C dramas, either the lead male or lead female always has a third person loving them to create jealousy to help develop the story line. This drama - no such thing. They don’t need a third person. Just the two of them is enough. The story is so beautiful, so creative. Even though they repeat a lot of the same scenes, I still want more of those same scenes. It is so rare for me to finish any C drama. I usually stopped halfway even with the famous ones like Ashes of Love or 10 miles peach blossoms because they all got boring or depressing. but I watched and treasured every single moment of this movie. The second couple is no less enthralling. The music is beautiful. The fight scenes are gorgeous - the slow motion, the wind on their hair on their clothes, the poses they make - all were so carefully and beautifully crafted. Even though I wish the main couple shape their own ending instead of letting his friend decide what to do for them, but it wasn’t the worse ending. I will get over it. Sad for all of us who want a second season, I imagine there won’t be one because I have read that it wasn’t well received in China. After I read their reviews, I almost passed it over. I am glad I didn’t. Oh well, all good things come to an end. And this movie ended too soon🥲 I want him to protect her through 7 lives!!!! Thank you so much for posting this movie. ❤️
The drama did good in views, the low score its because, first: first few episodes borrowed heavily from "10 Miles of Peach Blossom", that's true but only for the beginning episodes, after that this drama is totally different, second: the ending, many people didnt like the ending, but those same people will be the first in line to watch a season 2, that is if they bring in the same 4 main actors/actresses.
I'm new to these dramas but I think this is a happy ending...their souls are together and the villain is in heaven only knows. :oved this one right up there with Eternal Love....
Had to watch the ending twice bcs it went by so quickly with so much happening. I don’t mind how it finished, thought it was so beautifully written when he said he waited, when he was the groom she was not the bride, and when she was the bride he was not the groom, and now he wouldn’t get to wear the red wedding outfit for her. That was so elegant and heart wrenchingly beautiful! I would love a part two, maybe God could need their souls and they have to come back into the world with their friends to battle against evil. I loved the acting, storyline, writing, costumes and scenery-well done all who took part in it. And yes, I miss the dragon already!

@Daisy Whisenant I've learned a long time ago that None of so called Chinese drama will Ever give its viewers such luxuries so I was prepared for this ending. Each one of their love stories is Corrupt and wanted your emotion. Don't give in to that reality bcz you could be sucked in it. I'm putting an emotional distance if it happened to be that I was curious in their series. The communist government didn't want their people to be happy and wanted to control them. Bottomline is you've gotta be careful with their emotional trap through movies

TLDR: Please don't let this kind of comment stop anyone from watching and enjoying dramas like this. As someone who's watched a lot of K-dramas, and now C-dramas, I have to say that the latter is far better in terms of story and romance.
TV shows always want your emotions, there's no reason to make them otherwise. Even now, some people might even say that a happy ending is cliche and overrated/overdone. In my eyes, despite the ending being average, the story has been one hell of a rollercoaster from episode 1 and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching these characters grow and experience all these events. Perhaps it could be reflected in life, and that the end may not be glamorous or great, but what we have gone through is priceless and honourable.
P.S. if you want a historical, fantasy drama that has a happy ending, I suggest you watch Eternal Love of Dream. It has the same icy faced immortals, and cute love stories, and even cuter babies (ok, 1 baby but he's adorable). I doubt this is the only one that has a good ending, but don't let me stop you from enjoying all the happily ended stories that are worth your time.
Another one, although not fantasy, is the Long Ballad, which is a great, heart moving story about a princess that finds purpose, and a handsome lover along the way. This one has no future episode (with kids) but the main characters find peace. Another good happy end is The Romance of the Tiger and the Rose, very cute.
Oh, don't watch Prodigy Healer. The ending was terrible, and I felt like it was a waste of time. But I can't say I blame the communist mentality/party for it. Some stories, some writers, are just lacking.
I had to write this, just to say that your comment really undermines the great story telling and character development that make you think just a little more about life, and what it means to be human.
But, I mean, its a show. To use politics to deter people from enjoying their time and relaxing is a bit unnecessary, don't you think?

It's been 2 weeks since I finished the drama - this amazing soundtrack will always be nostalgic. I don't think I can bear to watch the leads with any other leads for a long long time (they are made for each other - sob..). I think this ending is best. Their spirits are soaring together now. A sequel may not do this justice - I will just keep this love alive in my heart.

For me, this is the best C drama I have ever seen. I have never watched a C drama that made me love the main couple so much so that I didn’t even mind watching them even when they were just standing there staring at each other. Every moment is so sweet, so pure, so gentle, so beautiful. Other C dramas, either the lead male or lead female always has a third person loving them to create jealousy to help develop the story line. This drama - no such thing. They don’t need a third person. Just the two of them is enough. The story is so beautiful, so creative. Even though they repeat a lot of the same scenes, I still want more of those same scenes. It is so rare for me to finish any C drama. I usually stopped halfway even with the famous ones like Ashes of Love or 10 miles peach blossoms because they all got boring or depressing. but I watched and treasured every single moment of this movie.
The second couple is no less enthralling.
The music is beautiful. The fight scenes are gorgeous - the slow motion, the wind on their hair on their clothes, the poses they make - all were so carefully and beautifully crafted. Even though I wish the main couple shape their own ending instead of letting his friend decide what to do for them, but it wasn’t the worse ending. I will get over it.
Sad for all of us who want a second season, I imagine there won’t be one because I have read that it wasn’t well received in China. After I read their reviews, I almost passed it over. I am glad I didn’t.
Oh well, all good things come to an end. And this movie ended too soon🥲 I want him to protect her through 7 lives!!!!

The drama did good in views, the low score its because, first: first few episodes borrowed heavily from "10 Miles of Peach Blossom", that's true but only for the beginning episodes, after that this drama is totally different, second: the ending, many people didnt like the ending, but those same people will be the first in line to watch a season 2, that is if they bring in the same 4 main actors/actresses.

整體劇情挺好的，節奏也不拖泥帶水，完整詮釋重點。男女主根據劇情也演得很到位。畢竟和男女主二的角色很不同，也就沒法演的太過活潑，女主在每一世不同個性詮釋我覺得也是很好。看得出她演的很認真努力。演技功力和在三生三世飾演反派的時候一樣都很入木三分。男主默默守護四世的包容的愛也是很感人。雖然知道一般來說知名一線女星很多人追捧，我也覺得他們確實演的很不錯。不過有像這樣不同美感型的女演員願意嘗試不同角色。相比其他幾乎是定型的在演天使角色的一些知名演員，個人覺得這樣的女演員更值得支持。總之，很推薦這部劇 ：）

Had to watch the ending twice bcs it went by so quickly with so much happening. I don’t mind how it finished, thought it was so beautifully written when he said he waited, when he was the groom she was not the bride, and when she was the bride he was not the groom, and now he wouldn’t get to wear the red wedding outfit for her. That was so elegant and heart wrenchingly beautiful! I would love a part two, maybe God could need their souls and they have to come back into the world with their friends to battle against evil. I loved the acting, storyline, writing, costumes and scenery-well done all who took part in it. And yes, I miss the dragon already!
