Most underrated song of all time. Idk, why people don’t talk about this one that much.
That’s alright it’s our hidden gem
All time ? Don't exaggerating pls. Song is nice btw
True its definitely in the top 5. That one and Beverly Laurel
when it released my friends and i had this one on repeat!!
this one is actually my favorite across entire discography :)
Hypnotic. Catchy. Psychedelic. Perfection.
Well said
@@Nubsty Nicholas Cage
The song technically never stops, so he’ll keep on lying to that person...
He was going to tell us at the end of the song. But the loop started again.
Didn’t even think about that, how it only fades in and out implying that it never ends... the production on the whole album is genius
No way really 😱
Lying to us
Lying to himself
I heard in a youtube video somewhere that the instrumental part simulates being a loner. You're trying your hardest to listen in on the conversation, be a part of it, but you can't make out any words, you can't engage in whatever is happening, and eventually revert back to inside your head as the music overpowers the conversation.
Broooo
sheesh
Dude really good observation
@@nugsandslugs4177 not entirely mine btw, can't remember where I heard it tho
@@thecursedone6004 I said that first, you got it from me.
The core of Lonerism. Legendary track, masterpiece and certainly underrated. Lonerism is one of the best music creations of the 10's.
Hehe, "the tens".
Lonerism is one of the best music creations in a lot longer timespan than just the 10s.
Soon I'll be alone
For me it sounds like a Beatles song
Hard for me to pick one single favorite from Lonerism. I think it would have to be Apocalypse Dreams, but this is amazing, as are all the other tracks. Each one is a masterpiece.
Tame Impala's hidden masterpiece.
"I guess I'll go and tell you just as soon as I get to the end of this song."
*song repeats to the beginning in the outro*
and how before the song can end it has to meander through all these beautiful psychedelic passages, taking the longest route to telling her...
@@sale9667 yeahh and also the way he repeated "to the end of this song" clearly stalling. I relate too much : |
Yes im glad someone noticed
Exactly, you get it
The best Tame Impala guitar solo ever
ON GOTHAM
it's only 2 notes, not that it doesn't sound good it's just simple asf
@@adan5439 it's not two notes but it's not complicated, that doesn't mean it's not good song writing
@@adan5439 A lot of Tame Impala is "simple" if you think this solo is simple cause it's just 2 notes. But Kevin's approach of songwriting and his use of effects and to create the feelings he does is not simple whatsoever.
He expresses so much with those few narsty notes...it's like in 'Boredom' by the Buzzcocks, the restraint serves the song.
that guitar solo is a vibe
1:45
@@tommyhofer1176 amen to that solo brother, it doesn't get talked enough!
Yeah... it's not really a solo. It really just an extended lick. I love this song. But really, there isn't any solo in this.
Fun fact: This is the song that never ends
The good thing is that it goes on and on my friend 🙂
100th like
Love how he sings about finally talking to a person when he gets to the of the song and then as the track finishes it loops back to the start, implying he'll never end up talking to the person. Amazing song.
This is by Far the best tame impala song ever
Yeah I agree. This or “the less ik the better “
Agreed
Emma Pivac one more hour, runway house city clouds, eventually, & mind mischief!!
Look up Disciples
Yess mind mischief is amazing
I don't think I've heard another song that fades in with lyrics, goes instrumental for the vast majority, starts to fade out, then lyrics come back in. I can't express how much I love this track. Kevin is a genius.
if you like this you might like the doublejumps :)
Light My Fire is the best analog imo
@@randomname2805 I saw a youtube clip of a live performance and they did a full 'Light my fire' tribute as part of it. It was awesome
Lyrics
All I give are little clues
Maybe one day I'll get through
There is nothing I can do
I'll just keep on lying to you
I only need to say its true
Your poor little heart already knew
But there is nothing you can do
I'll just keep on lying to you
Should my cover ever blow
Would you ever let it go?
There is something you should know
But hell if I'd ever let it show
So here I am, trying to be strong
It was noon, now my shadow's long
I guess I'll go and tell you just as soon as I
Get to the end of this song
To the end of this song, to the end of this song
To the end of this song, to the end of this song
The curse has won again
Soon I'll be alone
Take all you can
But please understand
It never really was love
All I give are little clues
Maybe one day I'll get through
But there is nothing you can do
I'll just keep on lying to you
Thank you
ouch these lyrics x.x
Kevin- this whole album honestly saved my life nearly a decade ago. I overdosed on pills. Something about this album defines where I was at following that. It's hard to describe what i mean. but very few albums are on that level of influence in my life. these days it's all singles too, but this one felt impactful then and still takes me back to a lost year. made less sad with time, perspective, and your music.
Listened to this song for 4 months straight on loop when I first discovered this. Most favorite Tame Impala song.
This used to be my call tone when I was in college
@@californiawinzs 😌
3 years straight

This is easily a top 5 tame impala song.
I agree! Apocalypse Dreams and Runway Houses City Clouds top 5 too!
Those 3 for sure. Let it Happen, MTWHB, Alter Ego, NTHHSFHBAWCC also contenders
There's the lyrics «I guess I'll go and tell you just as soon as I
Get to the end of this song» but the song is just a loop since it starts over at the end and thus never ends, proving that he is indeed lying.
Masterpiece.
Man I love how the vocals go on for a bit and then the rest of the song he just lets the instruments breathe. Especially that riff at the end. Freaking tops production.
Kevin created something truly timeless with this one
Achieving this timeless is legendary in itself
It makes me sad. He never gets to the end. So he keeps on lying. I used to listen to this on loop when i hadn't gotten my mental health issues addressed.
YES I JUST KEPT LOOPING IT I thought I was the only one omg 😢
omg this.
Still working on that we see.....
**kevin uploads anything off Lonerism**
Comments: this is his most underrated song!
well everyone has their own opinion. But honestly i think that speaks to the quality of the album if every song is considered to be an underrated classic
Be Above It is most definitely the most underrated song on Lonerism, or She Just Won't Believe Me, but thats because it's only like 10 seconds long.
@@steltzsm mate you're proving the point
@@shreddedyeet what point, the OP's one? I was just stating what I think bro, idc if I proved any point or whatever
@@steltzsm he was talking about how people said that every song in the album was individually the most underated song. And then you decided that this was the right place to state your opinion on which song was the most underated.
In my opinion, the best Tame Impala song. I've been listening to this song for years, and everytime I hear it again feels so fresh.
Same feeling. Lo mismo. The best tame Impala song ever
This has that 60s British cocktail lounge type vibe to it. Although, a good number of people are also tripping on LSD, while conducting a Fashion show.
Yes- 60s party is what I always attribute to this song
Look up "Toby Dammit" that's literally what you're describing!
Modern classic, so perfectly mesmerizing. You just get lost in the mood.
See you guys tomorrow when Kev uploads Elephant lol
Why is it every time I hear a T.I. song for the first time I'm like " ok I can vibe to this" but then by the 3rd or 4th time I actually listen to it I realize how mind blowingly magical it is. This it just amazing to me.
It grows on you!
The guitar at the end of this song made me believe in a higher power
This song has such a nice 60s style to it
This is just SOOO GOOD. It's totally my favorite song from the album, that guitar is mesmerizing. **chef's kiss**
My favorite song from Tame Impala. Please, appreciate it. This is the type of song that only appears once in two decades. Hope someday it gets the love it deserves.
True. This song has grew on me these past years. It has been on my playlists since long ago.
But there's something, something so unique about this song. The more I hear the more I like it. And the crazy thing is, Kevin has lots of songs that are really good and make me feel things. He is definitely one of the best artists of all time.
Best track on the album in my opinion. Can't go a day without listening to it. I wish people discussed about it more!
What is there to discuss?
This song deserves an amazing music video
this song is magical. I will never get tired of it
It is and awesome
That’s what makes The more better
Agreed
Song starts with a fade and ends with another, you can say it's a loop. Pretty awesome
I think that’s the point of the song because in the lyrics he says I will till you (the truth) when this song ends. And the song never ends
@@RobRamirez456 ik, the loop just states that he'll keep on lying. The take on this song is pretty creative
danny martinez Kevin is a genius
Ahnaf Tahmid Ali he really is I never payed attention that that until I read the lyrics
@@RobRamirez456 I kinda faced a similar situation of the lyrics so i just had to inspect it more lol
This song represents my mind when I'm supposed to be part of a conversation
I had a relationship like this, I didn't like the girl and I felt guilty, but unable to be honest.
No other song could describe it like Keep on Lying does
Yea same man
it be like that sometimes, you live and you learn
same that's why this song is so thoughtful to me
One of my all time favorites by Kevin. It encapsulates psychedelia at its finest.

MOST UNDERRATED SONG ON LONERISM !!
👏👏👏👏
Yess
Best tame Impala song ever
It's not underrated. Just read the comments. The word underrated is overrated.
Never get lost in the outside noise. Whenever you feel lost, come back to yourself, the most important voice, the one that matters in the end is yours.
Ótimo comentário, também sempre tive esse ponto de vista seu! 👍
Absolutely my favorite on this album
That guitar from 2:16 is addicting
This song is criminally underrated! This deserves more views imo
This songs reminds me days before quarantine.
Walk to the metro station... School... Responsibilities... People...
I used to listen a lot back then...
Especially that part : 2:30
Imagine you’re hanging out at a park and you look up and Kevin is taking a picture of you
lol
After noticing he's been caught, Kevin bolts away in terror of human interaction
@@p0mpilius lol
There is something incredible in this song and this echo effect reminds me of early Pink Floyd. What a tune !
Syd Barret was here
@@autodidactismo26 no doubt :)
This song made me want to cry the first time I listened to it.
Favorite in Lonerism.
I love the whole song in and out, the vocals, the whole instrumental, and 4:20 - 4:52... Still gives me eargasms
I didnt realise that the best part of the song has the beginning at 420! AWESOME :p
All the best elements are stirred well in this song.
This song hits different when you've lived through it
😔
Genuinely one of the greatest songs ever made. Absolute perfection
That synth makes me feel better everytime
When it melts
Best song on lonerism, the second half is amazing with headphones on
This is what disassociating feels like during a panic attack
YEEEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!! Its like all of your senses are a blur.
@George Jungle stupid.
Listen to Everybody love Sunshine by Roy Avers, same sort of feeling, different genre
It definitely reminds me of being at a party and suddenly sobering up. You lose all interest in and connection to the people around you.
Tame Impala just makes me feel happy in such a calming way 💗
4:20, they are just rippin it, love it
He*
still cannot believe this one found it’s way back onto the setlist!!!
Every time I saw her eyes I got lost in this transe like lover from a past life felt so homie and warm so seeing her again and then listening to this legend of an albumm
Beyond profound. this song is pure emotions. masterpiece
if you like this you might like the doublejumps :)
I've been listening to this song on loop for the last couple days. It's truly hypnotic. The second half reminds me of the dancing scenes in Last night in Soho for some reason.
Yes, THIS is the Tame Impala that i remember. Kevin, if you're reading these, just know :)) 1st and 2nd album is the essence
I also like that this song can loop forever
One of the greatests songs of all times. Masterpiece.
This song is just pure brilliance it has so much going on from amazing vocals to phenomenal musicianship, I love the way the background fuzz of being in a club has been incorporated. It ticks so many boxes on so many levels
One of TI's best songs. Lonerism is often cited as peak TI, and that's hard to argue against. The album cranks out song after song of great tunes (of course, that's true of all the albums).
A masterpiece. One of the best songs ever made.
Thank you Kevin.
*immediately bob's head*
With all the absolute bullsht going on in the world, this put my mind at ease
I love it here
YES 1000 times YES lol
Agreed. This takes you to another world, in the sunshine, happy days, milling around, freedom
The world behind those iron bars.
bellissima
Best track of the album, so underrated.
First song I heard from Tame Impala and I haven't stopped since then!!!
*eargasm*
reminds me of the good ole days
This song absolutely does not get the recognition it deserves.
Such a masterpiece of a track!!! This album front front to back is flawless!!! Excellent record!!!
4:10 I always look forward to hearing that laugh when I hear this song lol
Kevin parker has to be considered one of the best of all time.
TAME FOR LIFE✨🙏🏾
Lonerism is such a masterpiece, I have it almost on repeat. Don’t know about other versions, but the vinyl one is unreal
Best song Kevin has ever made.
blows my mind that this album didn't come out in the 60's
This whole album is 🔥 ..
Im on day 19 of having this on repeat 💯
One of my favorite memories listening to this song while tripping and starting to get worried for a sec hearing all those voices, then that sick guitar riff comes in and brings everything back to normal.
I have always and will always ADORE this song. One of my absolute favorites!!
Best song of this album!!
Master piece. Nothing more to say
I sure hope he plays it on the tour
1:34 bro that part always gets me "please understand that it never really was love" 💔
if you like this you might like the doublejumps :)
i have this album on vinyl and its was the greatest investment of my life
I’d say this is one of my favourite songs from Tame Impala.
the lyrics, the sound, the ambience, and it’s psychedelic af!!!
the cutest song ever to travel in the subway
Ill put it on, when Im on the Paris metro next
another great song I just discovered on pandora. luv these guy much and hope to see I. concert one day. I'm 60 years old but their music makes me feel youthful again.
You should listen to a band called The Doublejumps if you like Tame Impala :)
65 today in November 23,lol
This bass line...
Probably the most under rated of their songs
love it especially the end
The best fucking song of this album
Good job Australia coming up with this guy 🇦🇺
This reminds me in a way of Television's "Marquee Moon" in how it builds up slowly to an interesting long jam.
Love this song with all my heart. Wish more people appreciated it
Capolavoro
4:17 when the anxiety attack really kicks in at the house party
This one is so SPECIAL goddamn.
