It's 1981 I am 16 years old just got my license and driving my Mom from Pasadena to Las Vegas (she never drove in her lifetime) We would stay at Circus Circus and would walk around watch a show they put on for free and eat a bunch of junk food and she would look at me and say "It's time" And what she meant was "I am going to go gamble your going to the room to change and go to the swimming pool and in 5 hrs come find me" She was the Best Mom who worked hard raising 5 kids on her own and deserved her Vegas Trips. Sometimes they would let me sit with her but made me promise not to touch the machine. But she let me sometimes while looking to see it was OK. Then we would walk to Slots of Fun for a long hot dog and watch her play some more. Some would say what a bad Mother but really things we so different back then. We did these trips up until she passed 15 years later. And I would still go to the pool to let her gamble on her own every time.

The part about leaving EJ in the arcade hit home for me. I remember trips to Reno/Vegas when I was a kid and I couldn't wait to go play in the arcades. My grandparents and my parents would all go and one would take turns with me while the other 3 gambled. Some of the best memories!

@johnxie1551 it is fixed - over the life of the machine, so you can imagine the variable over possibly years of play. Impossible for us lay people to compete against. All you can do is check with the place you are gaming at and pick those that have the highest Rtp, as the range can be quite wide.
6:5 black jack is just a way to pay you less. I don't know why anyone would want to play that, but it seems to be taking over. That combined with a hit on a soft 17 makes it even worse for the player. As if the casino wasn't already taking enough.
