I love that you're giving permission to skip stitches and that is ok if some of the squares not have the exact same stitch count! Thanks for the tutorial! You're a great teacher.
Today, after years of not crocheting and knitting, I finally finished both of my projects. I had been struggling with the granny blocks, but I found a helpful channel that eased my frustration and provided valuable tips. I learned that even if the stitches don't match, there are ways to work around it. The advice to fix loosey-goosey stitches, work through both loops in the corners, and take a photo of the desired finish was incredibly valuable. Now that I've blocked the projects, I feel confident and ready to tackle the finishing touches. Thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial - I always struggle with the thought of uneven stitch counts but your joining method takes this in to account, and even better you can't tell. Thanks again
I just used this method and my project turned out gorgeous! You truly cannot tell that any stitches have been skipped! Thanks so much! This will now be my go-to method!
Thank you so much for making this video. It makes it so easy when you make squares and you’re trying to make a blanket and they’re all different stitches.❤❤❤
Thank you so much for explaining this process. I've been putting off the task, not being sure how to complete my afghan squares. You did a great job showing us. Thanks again!
I'm so glad you made this tutorial. I have just started making some solid granny squares and have been pondering how I want to attach them. I think I know how I am going to attach them. Thank you so much!
Thank you sooo much! I’m just learning Tunisian stitching & doing squares for an afghan & was trying to figure out how to join them neatly & this looks like the answer for me.
This is a great method! Your instructions are clear and concise! Lovely! Thanks for explaining this so well!❤ I don't use stitch markers as often as I should! NOW I will!
This is terrific. I have 30 9" squares to connect for a blanket--all blocked. I had seen a mitered square blanket in knit I liked so adapted that and now have the squares in 3 different gradient yarns and put aside for our move to a new home. Today I laid them out and balanced to my eyes, marked the rows with different color stitch markers, put rows in order of connecting--and went back to look at my saved videos--and found yours which I had never seen. Like it the best--my rows should be the same on all sides BUT.....and tried this on 2 squares I use for my demo--and love it. Thanks so much.
2 months forward---used this method, added a narrow simple border and blocked-esp. the 'seams' and border. Love it, will use this again, especially for either mosaic center out squares or overlay mosaic squares.
Thank you so much for this video! I am putting together a "block blanket" where different people made 7"x9" rectangles, so they are not all exactly the same size. 😉 This method will be great for the slight differences in size! 👍
Thank you so much for sharing these wonderfully clear instructions! I have been working for months on a blanket for my granddaughter who is going to college next week and am ready to join all of the side panels and corner squares to the center panel. I have watched many videos and your method is the one I have decided will be perfect to join all of these pieces. Thanks again!!!
Thank you very much. I will definately try this last method with a (granny) square blanket I am making, composed of 192 triangles, that make up overlapping hexagons. A nightmare. Especially since the instructions basically make vague references to doing single crochet through all four loops and 2 extraones at the corners. And not much else. Your video has given me hope.
Thank you for sharing this information I was gonna take out my squares and make them the same size but said it has to be a way to connect without doing them over so thank you for sharing 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thank You for sharing this video. So appreciated. Being somewhat New to crocheting this caught my attention. Wonderful teaching. I've been working up Granny Squares and due to a needed change in yarn, it had made a slight change in "Stitch count." This video will greatly help finish off nicely. Blessings!!!
Thank you for this great tutorial! I’ve been looking for something that would show how to join all sides with a no-show method & with uneven squares. Very nice.
Super helpful! I found other videos on joining two squares but this one actually explains how it works when putting a whole blanket together. Thanks so much!
Excellent video and so useful as I’m about to join my granny square blanket and have been wondering how to do it as they have come up different size’s due to different manufacturers wool which were meant to be the same. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this tutorial. I have a beautiful Persian tile throw that I e made all the motifs and was very nervous about how to join them together since I hadn't done that before. This looks perfect!!
What a fab tutorial makes me want to now join my granny squares together ☺ can I just ask on your single crochet border round how many single crochets are you doing for the corners
One of the best tutorials for joining. Just found your channel have liked and subscribed. thanks so much for sharing, have saved to my library and will use this when I start to join my throw I made for my adult daughter, hopefully by this week-end..
Great video! When you single crochet around the border of your squares before joining, do you not add extra chain stitches to turn the corners? Do you think this method would work good for much smaller squares (5 inch)? Thank you. 😊
Thanks for your help on learning to joining your. square’s together. I’m putting the squares of the elephant together. I just need to know how to first to put the edging on each squares. Any help would be helpful! Thank you Kathy
You're doing this with the right side facing each other. What would be the effect if you did it with the wrong sides facing while using white yarn for joining? I'd like to achieve a look similar to a single crochet join but flatter with no leaning to one side.
Absolutely Fantastic tutorial ❤thank you so much. I was wondering though? I have a (sc ch1 sc) in each corner of all blocks. Do I start joining in the ch1 space or skip the chain? You have totally made me love blocking
This is very helpful, thank you! When you’re joining the opposite way later in the video, are your right sides or wrong sides facing each other? Thanks!
i have an blanket I am working on that ended up having vastly different size squares, some of them are 9" some squares are 11". Can this method still work when joining that large of a difference in squares? Thanks for any tips!
Great tutorial, Thank you! I am new to crocheting and wanted to ask the following. You mentioned in the tutorial that you like to do a single crochet around your squares before you attach. Would you add a single crochet around a granny square?? TIA
Not on a traditional granny square. I typically do a round of single crochet on the squares that are worked in flat rows so that the sides will have a nice edge to work with.
Should I follow this joining method to join granny squares...even tho some of my squares look like they may have an extra stitch or two than the others? Is it a good idea to go around each square with a single crochet still? I'm a beginner and is my first major (to me) project.
I do a sc border around on my squares so that all sides have a nice stitch to work into when stitching together. If you are doing granny squares, then you already have stitches around the entirety of the square so the sc border is not necessary. You can absolutely use this method even if some squares have a couple of extra stitches...just strategically and evenly space out skipping extra stitches.
there are metal stitch markers?????? one of the reasons why I never wanted to use them was because those plastic diaper pin looking ones are so hard to use!!!! they almost look like really big necklace clasps.
@@HeartHookHomethe affiliate links on that site don’t work anymore. if you have time, can you update them? I just want to make sure you get your coin from my purchase.

Thank you for this! I've been kicking dirt at finishing a granny square blanket because I just wasn't confident in how to. I really love this tutorial
Glad you like the video!!
I love that you said kicking dirt. What a great expression 😊
I can relate to the kicking dirt phrase. The one I am finishing was in time out for several months for several reasons!
Thanks for giving me the confidence to complete my Afghan!
Hilarious. Same here. And now I’m starting to put them together as I follow along. Thx!
Thank you for this tutorial - I always struggle with the thought of uneven stitch counts but your joining method takes this in to account, and even better you can't tell. Thanks again
This is the best joining tutorial on the RUclipss. Thank you!
Glad you think so!

Just finished my first blanket ever. My uneven squares sat for 2 years gathering dust but now they are joined, thanks to you!
Wonderful!

Okay. This is doable!! I haven’t been able to find a joining method that didn’t turn my brain to mush. Thank you!❤
Thank you. That made sense and you went slow enough that I got it. I'm a newbie at crochet, so everything is new.

What is the easiest direction to close the squares?
