Then, out of nowhere from the ceiling, Knuckles smashed his way down to the Chamber of the Indigo Gem, unharmed.* Knuckles: "And he sticks the landing!" Maisie: "WHAT?! The Echidna's followed us again!" Robotnik: "This Echidna's always trying to spoil a bad thing!" O'Hara: "Are you kidding me?! Another one of THOSE aliens?!" Knuckles: "You guys are here, too? Took the long way unharmed, huh?" Shadow: "Is everything a bloody joke to you?! Why do you constantly have to interfere with my mission?" Knuckles: "Because my mission is to protect friends and family! Just like Sonic!" Alan: "I think I just threw up in my mouth." Knuckles: "And if you want the girl, the Gem, you're gonna have to go... through. . . ME!" *And with that, Shadow followed Knuckles towards the staircase to the Gem. They lunged themselves on the rocky walls and they launched and slammed into each other. BAM! Knuckles punched the black hedgehog fiercely with all his strength.* Robotnik: "The black hedgehogs taking no prisoner's today! Knuckles has heart. But will he lose the destiny to live?" Blaze: "C'mon! Let's grab the Gem while they're both busy!" *Maisie, Alan, Ellie and the others agreed and rushed to the staircase around the back.* Knuckles: "I really don't wanna fight you, but you're not giving me much CHOICE!" *He tried to karate kick the hedgehog, but Shadow smacked him first, sending him to tumble and splash through the waterfall.* Shadow: "Way. Too. Easy. Let's end this." *He marched his way up the stairs to the Gem. But, when he reached halfway. . . ZOOM! Knuckles sliced through the stairway, sending Shadow to roll and tumble down. Shadow watched as Knuckles ran up the wall, across the ceiling, curled into a ball and rammed him hard, under the stairs. With one final blow, Knuckles slammed Shadow down to the core of the earth. Then he saw Maisie and the others raced to grab the Gem, he jumped over it and struck the landing again, blocking their way.* Knuckles: "That's far enough, Lockwood! This is the end of the line for you." Silver: "Not quite, Knuckles! Out of our way and let us get the Gem." *The two of them circled in front of the group preparing for a confrontation.* Knuckles: "Not gonna happen, white hedgehog. Soon, my new moment will come. I will snatch the Gem and then I will take the girl back to her parents." *BLAST! Out of nowhere, Shadow blasted his way out of the staircase and quickly distracted Silver, trying to knock him out. But the white hedgehog dodged his attacks.* Shadow: "Why. Don't. You. Stand. Still. And. Die. With HONOR?!" Silver: "Okay. I thought about it. AND. I. PASS!" Shadow: *Roars* *And with all his punching, Shadow knocked out Silver, sending him to crash into Knuckles, Maisie, Alan, Ellie, Blaze, Vector, Chramy, Cream and Espio like bowling pins! Meanwhile, Robotnik made to the Gem unharmed.* Robotnik: "Hello, magnificent. You're such a real deal, aren't ya?" *The whole group crashed into the wall next to the doorway of the amber mines. While dozing off, Maisie, Blaze and the others got up and saw Shadow snatched Cream in front of them. Shadow held up a pistol and began to tranquilize her.* Shadow: "Say goodbye, girl." *As the black hedgehog was about to tranquilize Cream with his pistol, Knuckles can see Robotnik stealing the Indigo Gem!* Knuckles: "Shadow! O'Hara! Stop! Robotnik's stealing the Gem!" Shadow: "What kind of trick do you take me for, Echidna?" Alan: "Just look!" *The criminals turned around and saw Robotnik was about to grab the Gem with his transport. They were horrified!* Shadow: "WAIT! That wasn't the deal!" *He released the little girl and gave her back to Maisie and the others. O'Hara and her black men were shocked! She knew that Robotnik wasn't their boss after all! Not even Dodgson's.* Robotnik: "Oh, you slow naïve agent. It wasn't your fault. A way more advanced intellect would've seen move coming more miles away. Or 5.7 kilometers." Shadow: "But I trusted you! You were my friend!" O'Hara: "I could not even believe it! I thought you were our boss to kidnap the girl!" Robotnik: *Cackles* "Oh, I'm sorry. That just hit me seriously funny. And I'm not exactly your boss to kidnap anyone or anything. Let this be my 5th and final lesson to you, you idiotic-lawbreaking worldwide search biopharmaceutical property criminals. *He explained to them why friendship is important to others* Friends are open, kind, honest and vulnerable with other.
