That Ford Taurus is a good one. Personally, I would bid up to $750 on it. I’d probably go up to $900 on the AT&T Ford Focus.

    • @wugodi7186

@@wugodi7186 Yeah the bids usually start low. For example if I do a pre bid on a car, my starting bid is usually $150, even if my max bid is like $2,000. That way I can get a better deal, usually.

C-Max, top five of the 500 cars I ever owned. 125 on the clock, 60 MPG, and best for me, lots of leg room because they are tall. EXCELLENT cars. I would give $2,000 sight unseen for that CMax. (BTW: The engines last for ever because they only run about 2/3 the time they accumulate miles. There is a chassis battery in the back that needs changed. It is separate from the hybrid battery pack. Yes, it is a CVT trans, complex! The drive and hybrid charge are all in the trans.

I love the little Focus. My late wife had one from new and In 2009 it was our wedding car and the one we took up the White Mountains (NH) on our road-trip honeymoon. This was an all-new model for the NA market only and whilst not as solid as the 1998-2004 Euro Focus it replaced, it was a much more modern looking and driving car. This one looks to have been well taken care of. The price is probably fair given the mileage, but I wouldn't be so worried about that given it's a fleet vehicle.

With the Taurus, replace and paint, if needed the fender, polish the rest of the car out and sell it. Please don't pass up on the '98 Taurus! It's a beautiful 90's survivor. I'd be comfortable at $600-$800 max for resale. The sad reality is, a 90's Taurus isn't desirable or collectible to the mainstream. Personally, I would bid $1,000. Find a matching fender send her to the Auto Spa. Afterwards, I'd rock steady that car everyday with 90's Weather Channel music playing just for nostalgia!

My thought on the Chevy truck was that it may have been a theft recovery after a police chase and crash. I don't think you would go wrong on the Ford Focus. You could probably make a profit on that one. Good little daily driver. The Mercedes looks like it was rode hard and put away wet. No bueno! The Ford c-max sounds like trouble. That coupled with the hail damage would make me walk away. The Ford Taurus looks like a good candidate. Good condition other than the fender. Mileage isn't bad. Looks like it was maintained. At a decent price it's winner winner, chicken dinner. Just not a great fit for the channel. But sometimes, at the right price, things are too good to pass up.

Man, Randy. The moment I saw that Taurus, I said 1998 and I can’t believe I got it on the nose when you actually said the year itself. 😂. Then I saw the 24 Valve badge on it. I would jump on that quick, fast and in a hurry. A Duratec with less than 120k miles and well taken care of with just a busted fender. I take that any day. This is one I would say, “GET IT, GET IT, GET IT!!!!” I would be willing to pay up to $2.7k total for this Taurus. I’ll probably spend another $1k getting a few things corrected that I didn’t like in its current condition.
As for that Ford Focus, I would also consider it up to about $900 total but it has a lot of body work to get it sorted. I’ll spend more to get it done compared to the Taurus and in the end I would enjoy the Taurus more.
So for content, the Focus. But personally between the two, I’ll jump on that Taurus any day. I had a 1993 3.8 Essex V6 and a 1997 3.0 Vulcan V6. I always wanted a 3.0 Duratec 24 Valve V6 and could never get one because people wanted too much for them.

I’ve always been intrigued about the Ford C-Max but the condition of the one you featured here is something I would not even touch. Too much issues I foresee to fix mechanically. If it needs engine rebuild and maybe a hybrid battery replacement, I would not bid more than $800 for that.
The other cars will be a complete walk for me.

The cmax has a transmission issue 100% certain, for I have a 2013 that had the same problem till the transmission went out. I heard in theory that if you are in a carb compliant state it would be covered under warranty till 150,000 miles, but haven't been able to confirm it. Mine has a 168,000 miles on it . Apparently it's a known problem for 2013 to 2014 models.
I now have a 2017 energi with a lot less miles and a extended warranty.
