Bonfire building in the Holme Valley for a great community celebration

Before the rain arrived, an enthusiastic group of youngsters, mums, dads and some elders all jumped out of bed early this morning to help build the annual bonfire at The Sands in Homfirth. Organised by the Rotary Club and supported by Holme Valley Scout Group we had a cracking time builidng the bonfire, setting up saftey barriers and preparing the ground for the firework display whihc will see more than £5000 spent on a brilliant display for the public - courtesy of the Rotary Club. All funds raised will go towards supporting local charities and good causes so if you are about, pop dow, Join the fun at 18.30 on the fun fair and dodgems before the rockets go up at 19.15 - its a couple of quid to get the family in and you'll have the chance to win a proze on the floating ducks!!
