Absolutely stunning place! I just recently discovered that my 28th great-grandfather, Roger de Pitres, is buried there. He was the Sheriff of Gloucester under William the Conqueror and constable of Gloucester Castle. The workmanship in cathedral architecture is so beautiful it takes my breath away.
One of the best cathedrals i have ever visited (i live in Gloucester , but not born there )So much history and a lot still too be seen inside it . Thanks Richard for putting it on one of your visits .
That natural sunlight showed it off incredibly well. And as you say it looks better in real life. Great scenes on the camera Richard. Thank you. And thanks to Mark.
Superb filming Richard, you really captured how beautiful the cathedral is and a really interesting talk with your guide Mark. Never knew about the composer John Stafford Smith of the music to the Star Spangled Banner. Also the lady chapel looked enchanting. A lovely and beautiful cathedtal.
How on earth did the stonemasons of the time build this ?? Absolutely beautiful ! What craftsmanship !! As you both commented , we would be hard pressed to build it today !! This video will surely inspire others to visit Gloucester Cathedral ! Thank you both 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
What a fabulous, incredible building. The windows, the roof, the monuments - wow! Mark is a very knowledgeable guide. The organ sounds like a mighty beast! Good also to see the Hogwarts cloisters! Interesting factoid (myth) about Edward II - a lie was started in the 1330s/1340s that he was killed by a red hot poker in a place where no one should have a red hot poker!
The cathedral is awestrucking when you are exploring it in person. I have been there a few times and I loved it. I hope you enjoyed it

It sure is an amazing place. I must go back and study it more fully!
That cathedral is amazing, I was there and stayed in my soul...
An amazing walk round for sure. Thanks for watching.
I am from Gloucester Born & Raised ~ Walked this Cathedral many times as a kid and attended Christmas Eve Services
Beautiful place, many times I’ve been , always learn more.
Stunning! Incredibly Amazing! Again, love all the layers of history behind the build - but the architecture itself is just astounding!
It is breath taking!
What a fabulous building. The craftsmanship is overwhelming. Great commentary. Look forward to additional return here.
Much to see for sure - need to return.

So pleased you enjoyed it Mark! :)
What a triumph of sound, light, texture and architecture. Although the organ must of made your edit a nightmare, it really added to the ambience.
Thanks Nigel - very lovely in there for sure.
One of my Aunts was a flower arranger in the Cathedral for many years
another great video Richard do please keep 'em coming, thanks, Robert.
Thanks, will do!
Stunning ! One of the gems of merry old England.
Video barely covers the beauty of the place - thanks so much for watching. :)

His Ass-Holiness indeed.

👏 amazing
I’m Gloucester born and bread and visit the Cathedral regularly, taking advantage of this amazing place right on my doorstep.
are pictures allowed inside the Cathedral?
Yes ofc
It's so strange that such a beautiful building is in the centre of an otherwise pretty depressing city
Not really when you consider when the cathedral was built.
now where did the bloody writing of that Weasley girl go, i wonder?
I don't know
When u go into the cathedral u will recognise somethings u may see in Harry Potter
