Ymir, Ariel, and Mia are great starts. Lilith is pretty low tier and very niche. I would recommend your friend try and get Eros and the other 5 star archers next if they can. Currently full archer teams are one of the stronger teams
It varies heavily on situation. In terms of damage, both achilles and witch set are best for them. If they need more penetration, then witch set will be better. If they have sufficient penetration (100%+ or 150%+ when the boss has penetration resistance), then achilles is slightly better.

This game doesn't have an updated wiki page to my knowledge. Most of the data and knowledge can be found on discords or youtube. I would start with discord. Collab characters are limited so you won't see them if you didn't get them.

If she doesn't get hit by the enemy, then you'll get the most attack by equipping her with 3 pieces of the Ares set and 2 pieces of the Achilles set. More attack means more heals. 2 piece achilles gives 40% ATK, however other sets give 30% attack for 2 pieces such as Demon and Abyss. If she is getting hit even from the back, odds are the boss hits your entire team like a breath boss. In these cases, it's typically best to try and make your team as balanced in HP/DEF as possible. So if she is the squishiest on your team, then I typically give her some of my tankier gear sets which happens to be slasher set, though this will vary for everyone. My slasher is heavily invested since I'm an old player whereas newer players will have sets newer sets like Achilles or Executioner heavily invested. It's honestly situational. At the very least, any combination of sets that gives her 10%+ damage reduction and some ATK% will suffice. This will boost her heals slightly and helps her survivability.

She's in S tier as of right now. Right now full archer teams and water teams are the meta. I would invest in both.
