My brother in law committed suicide 4 years ago. I never got angry as for his reason why he did this like some of my other family members did. I just told myself that whatever pain or grief he was dealing with was gone for him and only God not us would judge him for what he did. I do get upset and sad at times but I can't let that put me in a state of depression either. I loved him like he was my true real blood brother. I love you Paulie and I wont ever forget you.

People always say that they can't imagine how intense the pain these people must be feeling that they can't live another day. I'm not speaking for anyone, but my suicide attempt was not in response to the pain as much as it was thinking and feeling the despair would never end. I concluded that since I was only 22, and may live to be 85, that would be about 65 long years of bearing my despair. Looking back now that I am 70, I am not only relieved that someone found me before it was too late, but that, with help I was able to work through the despair. I'm a very different person.

Wrong: no matter who the depressed person tells, it not only makes no difference but can make things worse. Nobody truly wants to be told somebody close to them is suicidal, because they are not qualified to help. Acknowledging someone’s in pain is nice, but does almost nothing in mitigating the suicidal person’s distress.

If you are not asking, how did you know that? If you can not read between the lines, ask again. If they answer things that might sound strange to you, ask them if they want to walk one day with you. Not in your shoes, they should not imitate you, but maybe to tell you how they see their world. That is the first step.

Suicide is MURDER, which is a COMMANDMENT. Those are SINS. Life is a gift, and not ours to end. Once born, we belong to those who LOVE US, NOT OURSELVES. I AM sorry for your loss.

@@Jacubamustoff We did not ask for depression to be part of our lives . We were just born into this world . Its not murder its simply ending the body thats keeping the mind alive thats causing the depression. Human beings didn't ask to be born . A person that lived a terrible life with depression and committs suicide at 40 should be classified as a victory as they didn't ask to be born in the first place

@nicegoal6608 Not true. I think I understand how you feel. I used to be depressed almost every day. Life can be quite horrible at times but also very enjoyable and magical at certain points. Sometimes it takes a while to find those moments in time. But it's worth it! Try to focus on any of the positive things in life that you can find, or try to find things to become interested in or excited about. When I was super depressed every day, I went out joined a gym and started working out several times per week. I'd take myself on "dates" to see movies or concerts, etc. Go out and try new food places, or activities, even if it's just a fast food joint or a local coffee shop. It is worth it to go on living even if, at times, it doesn't seem like it. If you really can't find a way to pull out of sadness and are falling into a very dark place, please seek some help from professionals! Nothing to be ashamed of. 🙏 Wishing you love, hope, good luck, and happiness!

Years of being bullied, lonely, extremely depressed, physically sick, complex PTSD, abuse, and trauma took its toll. I see god in peoples mind, so I stop worry, something bad won't happen. I should believe in that so I can chill and enjoy the rest of my life; life is short, but I must find it, happiness.

Jessica, I don't know you but I feel sad reading your words.
Yes, why are people mean to each other?
I think that whenever you feel sad, helpless, with negative thoughts, you can talk to a friend, listen to music you like, do physical activity outdoors, go to a park/garden and observe nature, read a book that inspires you or a movie that makes you happy.
In other words, whatever gives you pleasure and brings moments of happiness.
Believe in your potential, your qualities and if you can, help others by volunteering Try to be more confident in yourself❤
For my sanity, I stopped watching news about the (endless) wars and conflicts.
I hope you can find hapiness in little moments, that's what life is about.

I am living with chronic pain and am permanently disabled through a freak accident. I have so many meds, and doctors. I am trying to lead as normal a life as possible, and work full time but some days are harder than others and then the dark thoughts come. Love of my family and devotion to them pulls me through most of those dark, dog days. My friends could not possibly be more wonderful and of course, my cat is the best! But when I go, I hope I can choose the time and place, without taking action that would cause my loved ones unnecessary pain nor leave a needless mess. God bless them all and God bless all of you xx

Here in the UK I just came across this video of those who committed suicide in 2023. Such sad news of all of them but my heart broke to hear that Choi Sung Bong had committed suicide at the age of just 33. For any of you who have never heard of him or heard him sing he was an inspiration. He ran away from an orphanage at the age of 6 after being abused. He spent his childhood living on the streets and sleeping in doorways. He would listen to music coming from establishments such as restaurants and clubs. His childhood was harrowing and his only comfort was music and his ability to sing. I saw him by chance on You Tube. He took part in Koreas X factor and I remember his performance and then leaving the building on his own, alone with no one to support him. His amazing operatic talent took him a long way but tragically never to recover, I think, from the effects of a devastating childhood. Please pay tribute to him and go and watch his audition on KGT. Really feeling full of tears. My own father committed suicide when I was 18, Bless you Choi Sung Bong. May you finally have peace.

I think this avenue of thought very nicely frees us from curing our culture's poor systems. Here in the US, it's the Hunger Games to survive. Companies take your life and make it seem pointless while isolating you from your loved ones. Breaks from work are few and pay is so piddling you can't do anything but sit at home. The demand to perform at the top gives high achievers nothing after they've achieved.

Everyone does have that choice , but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a selfish act that most hurts the people who care about them. My alcoholic father used to talk about wanting to die from the time I was 10 years old until I was 20 and decided to let it go.
By that time I figured out he was a selfish person who didn’t care how damaging his self pity episodes were to his young children.

It takes a lot of courage to kill yourself. We all have a natural innate disposition to live and fight for life. Fight or flight. So to contemplate and going thru suicide is a very strong indicator of the persons state of mind. The cowards are the ones who say the people who die by suicide are cowards. Thats rubbish! They feel they are a burden to people. Which is why they do it. To relieve you of the burden. Thats not a coward.

That is a very lovely tribute to your brother. Incredible hard that it is surrounding your own birthday celebration…. Sometimes survivors guilt can happen.. as in why them and not your self. I don’t think I have ever felt to judge someone experiencing so much sorrow and suffering. I’m in my 5 decade now even more so… yes there is mental illness, which in our society how does any one side step that. Along with just bad luck and sometimes factors you can’t control that can push anyone to the limit. Never say never. I do worry about people who can be so black and white and disregard a persons situation as…. One day you might have the love of your life get that desparate… and how on earth would they console or offer solace with such a rigid ,uncompassionate view. Could you live with yourself if that person left a suicide note explaining the treatment they had received. Just something to ponder. We all hit the wall at some stage… seek out someone who actually gives a genuine #+*^% folks.

I agree. People in a suicide mindset think they are a burden and are causing pain to the people they love. It’s the mental illness. Reaching out for help, esp. with no health insurance makes actually receiving help impossible.
Professionals only willing to help if you have $30,000 for 60 days in a mental health facility. What’s left?
To face and overpower a humans natural instinct to survive isn’t cowardly or selfish. It’s the most selfless thing and the most difficult thing to go through with.
My dad took his life in 2007 after multiple previous attempts by downing a nearly half bottle of vodka, took close to 100 Vicodin (which would have killed him alone) and then shot himself with a 9mm handgun with hollow point bullets while sitting on his couch in 2007 after his psychopathic ex wife (a woman who laid a hot clothing iron on my back when I was 12, the scar still visible today, cracked my skull open with a brick at 14, shaved my head down the center like a reverse Mohawk for using her shampoo when I’d ran out of mine while I was in the 6th grade, knowing I was already being bullied at that school and burned all of my belongings when I was sent to state custody per her threatening my dad to sign the papers.)
I had undiagnosed Asperger’s/autism and was a bit different, but not a bad kid. She burned the JROTC award I was so proud of, my HS cheerleading trophies, academic awards and everything but my clothing. Dad sat me down, handed me $20K cash and apologizing for being a “shitty no good father and wanted to make things as right as possible me. I accepted and handed him back the cash. He gave it to my boyfriend at the time who gladly accepted. This just a year before his death.
Why? She locked him out of the house HE purchased while he left one morning to see the doctor to receive his prostate cancer diagnosis. While he was gone, she changed the locks, moved another man in, with Hep C, while their 8 year old son lived there too and he never saw his son again.
He survived the cancer though due to the surgery he was left unable to have sex which meant at 54 he would never be sexually intimate with another woman again. He was also an alcoholic and pain pill addict due to pancreatitis flare ups. He was in pain 24/7 so I understood his decision and figured he went out drunk, high and died fast. Better than suffering from a terminal physical illness like liver failure. My uncle (his brother and successful attorney) didn’t want to hire crime scene cleaners for $25k, so in funeral school at the time, I cleaned up the mess which included scraping his dried skull fragments and brain matter off the window with a metal spatula.
I didn’t cry or feel anything but peace knowing he was no longer suffering.
What’s truly selfish is normal people who don’t have to experience daily pain and suffering expecting people who do, especially older people, to keep living in agony just so they don’t have to experience the grief. Thats how I see it.
A day doesn’t pass that my heart doesn’t find my dad. RIP my dad Rob, to all of these beautiful humans in this video and those in the comments written by loved ones. You’re never forgotten. (Dammit now I’m 😢)

I understand how incessant and seemingly permanent mental issues drag one to the bottom of their barrel. The saying: "Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem" may fit some. Most of us battle our negative thoughts for decades before we finally give in to them. I sometimes wonder how I have lived this long...yet now, in my 7th decade, I am resolved to heal completely. It is my gift to myself; and well deserved.

My brother in law committed suicide 10 years ago. I knew he was depressed but none of us knew how horribly depressed he was. I wish I could reach back, take the time and sit him down and talk to him. Tell him it was all going to be ok. I was just a sister in law but still I feel responsible. His siblings got angry at him after his suicide and still are. They don’t understand depression. Depression is a tough foe. I was never angry at him but still, I didn’t sit down with him. I didn’t take the time. I can’t help feeling like I could have saved him had I taken the time. I miss your sad, beautiful eyes the color of blue-glass and you peeking out from your long dark eyelashes. Your heart was good and I loved you. RIP Randy.

So you think you just can't go on? Sometimes we just need to look at things from a new or different perspective
The reason people are killing themselves is because they no longer believe in or believe God. They might say they do but if they did they wouldn't call him a liar, they may not say God is a liar but when you don't believe God's written word you're telling him he's a liar, Jesus, God's son told you over and over about hell. Yes hell is a real place and it's a place of fire and eternal torment. People kill themselves for the most part because they no longer want to face life, some do it because of illness, some maybe out of spite towards a spouse, etc. You think, oh It'll all be over, no more pain, no more trouble, I'm sick of all this and on an on. I promise you, you will be in hell, then you will know true pain, then you'll know true loneliness, you'll know pain you can't imagine. The churches have let you down, the pastors have let you down, many no longer speak of hell, they don't want to lose their congregation, their income. They will stand before God one day and give account for withholding the truth. I promise you, you don't even have to wonder about it, if you kill yourself, you will go to hell, then the lake of fire. You can pray about it, you can ask God to forgive you all day long for what you're about to do ,but it doesn't work that way, you will still go to hell. God is not mocked. do you think God is going to forgive you when you ask him , please forgive me for adultery then go out on your spouse and commit adultery. That's how stupid it is when you ask God to forgive you for killing yourself then go kill yourself. The adultery may be different, you might get forgiveness afterwards, but if you kill yourself it's to late......you will be in hell and you will be there forever burning in the lake of fire without end.

Although he was quiet and didn't say much, no one thought of him as depressed. It has come as a total shock. This was a commonality with all of those I have known who took their life. They did not reach out for help or give any indication that they might do something so drastic, so final. But there it is. There's no point in trying to make sense of it or blame oneself or anyone else. It's their choice - they know their time in this life is over. One can only hope they were at peace with such a painful decision.

As someone who is already diagnosed terminology ill, daily life is HELL in the last five years, I've had my stomach opened 5 times for a condition called intussusception/volvulus and have had over 6 feet of my bowels removed. It keeps coming back. I'm doing it without any pain meds whatsoever as I don't like how they make me feel. The constant feeling like someone has their hands inside my stomach squeezing all day long, hurts like hell, and I'm on the list to be put to sleep. It's not suicide if something is already killing you, and multiple Drs said it's eventually going to kill you. I'll be happy to trade one day of my life with anyone, and let's see if you consider it suicide, or helping you out of a terminal condition so you don't have to go through the pain anymore. Anyone up for a trade??

Worse than Hollywood. It was police "mishandling" (the one in charge chose a famous one for his own credits/promotion need). He was interrogated for many days. Done many drug test (tested negative). They rejected his request not to publicise his name. Resulted in lost of sponsorships & being sued for damage/breach of contracts for sky high amounts beyond him.
It would be easily swiped off if it happened in other countries.

I need help. Please pray for me.
I just got divorced. We are being forced to sell our home. She has possession until the home is sold.
Here's what I need you to pray for:
She changes her mind and does not want to sell the home. If that happens, then I can go back home and try to fix my family. We have two children. There was no abuse. I admit I yelled, but that was because someone outside of our home was abusing me. She was also going through menopause but I did not know it until after she filed for divorce. We had stopped having sex or even hugging or kissing each other. I grew sad. So, she filed for divorce. I was forced to move out (I did not know I didn't have to move out). I made a lot of mistakes. I am hoping I can fix my family. But if I continue to have to live out of the house, I am also facing financial ruin, since I do not have enough savings to continue paying rent.
I do not want to lose our beloved home.
We are supposed to put it on the market March 1, 2024. If we both decide not to sell it, I think I can go back home.
If I cannot go back home, I do not want to be here anymore.

Jesus is going not restore your home. This is what i want you to do, find a quiet place kneel down and ask Jesus Christ to help you fix your finance and marriage. then put your prayer into action. Go back home tell your wife you want you two to fix everything. allow her to talk then you listen, when she's done tell her your sorry and you goanna be there for her and the kids.

The biggest things Bubba Copeland did wrong was state that his private life did not effect his holy life. How wrong a “preacher” can be when they try to justify the sins in their life as not being sins. You don’t write stories like he did “fantasy stories” and not know that your heart doesn’t align with your walk with God and the dressing like a woman when you’re a man is also addressed in the Bible. Thinking you can pick and choose what parts of the Bible you will personally follow, then stand up to teach Gods word to others is so wrong. We all sin and we know there will always be consequences to those sins, but he knew exactly what he should have done with those sins. I am sorry he took his own life instead of being honest with his community and showing that God will forgive if you confess and repent. God is concerned about your heart , not what you purport to be on the outside. If those two don’t match it’s time to get your heart right with God and then the outside reflect your walk with Him, not hid your secret life. Please, if you can’t seem to turn away from sin on your own, know what God never meant for you to do life on your own, the good, bad and the ugly parts. He is always there to strengthen you, you just need to surrender it all to Him. Talk to Him!!!

Juat sharing a bit of my story.
I was sexually abused from age 4 or 5.
More than one person was involved.
I was very inteoverted, didnt have many friends.
I lost the love i had for my family, they would only mock at whatever i did with my life.
I started feeling like i dont belong anywhere, so my first suici.. attempt was at age 15, I had some other attempts but never could complete them.
I moved many times and even moved out of the country, i had many good moments, but the feeling of not belonging and the disappointment with people made it hard sometimes.
I committed another attempt, which led me into hospitalization overnight and the last one in a coma for a week.
Suic* is not wanting to live with this inner pain that can't be easily wiped out.
I still live with days i have to struggle with my thoughts and not act on them.
But many times i think i just want to rest.
