Matt and Frankie track down the killer John Wesley Hardin after he murders two Indians. This episode tells the whole story of John Wesley Hardin. Watch classic westerns at www.westermania...
He cleaned up his act, got an LLB, still returned wayward! Tragic
A friend of mine spent time in Huntsville Pen.He liked writing checks.
Hardin backed down Wyatt Earp . He was tough as nails ans sorted a thick black beard. These stories of the century take great liberty.
All the photos I've seen of him showed him clean shaven or a mustache. Googled him and no beard photos in the first 40 or so pics
Actually John Wesley Hardin was shot to death from behind in El Paso at the Echo (or Acme) Saloon by John Selman Sr., a 56 year-old former badman. The August 1895 date given in the TV episode is correct. While awaiting a 2nd trial (the 1st was a mistrial), Selman was himself shot to death by a US Marshal (1896)! So it goes with gunmen!
All I have read of the characters portrayed in these stories including some from 'newspaper official records', have found not one mention of Matt or Frankie. They must have been time travelers also. The Old West goes to the Twilight Zone!
Hardin wasn't one to suffer fools gladly.
