When James Horner died, Universal should've brought out that fanfare one more time for one of their movies using their newer logo. I understand they'd have to trim the soft part at the start off, but it would've been a great tribute.
I had NO idea James Horner did the fanfare for Universal's 1990s logo (which I've seen hundreds of thousands of movies with this logo) until now! COOL!
Jerry Goldsmith composed the more famous fanfare used between 1997 and 2012 (and then rearranged by Brian Tyler which is used to this day). While Jerry Goldsmith is probably my favorite movie composer of all time, his fanfare pales in comparison to the beauty that is James Horner's take on the Univeral logo. It's criminal how it only lasted a couple of years.
Agsma, Just Agsma though I must admit whenever I heard Goldsmith's original version I can't help but feel the movie must be very good. Horner's I feel like I'll be watching some children's fantasy.
A theme that had a ton of effort that gave viewers that imaginative feeling... that your mind will go on an adventure... No matter if it's going back in time to the old west, Fighting fires in Chicago or playing with your St. Bernard, you know that this theme has been a hit for many generations to come.
Makes me cry, the NOSTALGIA. Arguably one of the most beautiful musical scores for any movie of all time. Something about this brings up a thought about being one of the best film scores of all time and it really is arguably. What if James Horner in the plane of the 1927 logo and when the flew around the earth and into the clouds, what if that was Horner himself flying to heaven?
Interesting to note that the montage of logos at the beginning was actually taken from the 100th anniversary logo. Nonetheless, a brilliant performance. R.I.P. Mr. Horner.
I'm pretty sure that very logo montage was used for the 75th Anniversary fanfare. You can see it in Back to the Future Part III. Edit- Hmm. Rewatching, it's almost exact, but not quite. The only logo that's missing in BTTF is the Universal International logo.

this intro is the best of all the intros that universal did, I even remember that the intro that sega did with Paramount has that same magic as this universal intro from the 90s. ruclips.net/video/TLGeKYNIu00/видео.html
I actually like this fanfare better than the current one. Something more majestic about it, and the 1990-1997 logo felt more like something that made for a perfect sight and sound in a movie theater.
I had a dream of some women living up to 510 years and when her granddaughter came in the room and that kind of music was playing with a women vocalist (that happened on the last day of elementary school

If they wanted to honor Universal's 100th Anniversary they would have brought this back. I'm sorry but except for the TV series "Scorpion" and the "Scream" reboot Bryan Tyler doesn't know how music effects the audience.
I’m holding back tears. This music is too powerful and nostalgic

They did! It’s beautiful.
@@Moondancemilly Wait, which movie?
Or animate a longer logo, or use it when there are more companies involved and many logos are shown.

They should bring this back in honor of his memory

That was beautiful.
R.I.P James Horner... you will be remembered.

@@EdReedFan20 Also the 1963 logo has the byline, "AN MCA COMPANY," as opposed to it saying A Universal Picture, which is shown in this video.
Except the Universal International logo wasn't present in the 75th Anniversary logo that this fanfare was used for.
Dedicated to the memory of James Horner.

Look at us all mellowed by remembering our childhood through these notes.
The best major film studio theme ever
I prefer this version to the current overly strident and heavy fanfare at the start of current Universal movies
This is perfect.
This made me smile so hard, my cheek muscles became sore.
I think this logo debuted on Back to The Future Part III right?
you're exactly 😎👍

I wish they played the short version of this in the new logo. Still, beautiful to listen to.

Maestro James Horner music has melody and nostalgia always .
the first part of the music is the Universal Television 1990-1996 theme slowed slowed down.
Jeff Chan 香港二台 Technically the first part of the music was adapted for use as the 1991-1997 Universal Television theme.
Anyone know how to go back in time? Thanks in advance.
