The game actually don't follow the original story, I think it's because there were so many people complain about Ace's dead in the main story so they made him alive in the game.
Great, I wonder if next game should go on like DW8 with actual story and "what-if" story or not. I can understand fans' feelings of Ace, but the Straw-hat Pirates are two years from the actual story in this game. And as for the puzzle part, I think it's almost impossible since the first game rely on Luffy too much. (Three colors for the same cloth!) It would be a big problem to consider puzzle-solving part for the others.
I'm still curious why they went with a completely original story for this game. I guess its because their really isn't that much content for post-timeskip?
Just how did Ace alive? I thought he's dead after that great battle in the last game. And he's just sleeping and eating after victory. But what??? That cyborg helps Luffy??? What a confusing story...
