Bought the same ones in Sept 2021 with elastic strap instead of Velcro cuff and love them. I also found the thumbs short. After daily use they are broken in pretty well. At first stiff and really have to clinch to keep proper fist due to 1/2 inch high density foam. But I love these gloves and the thumbs have stretched a tad bit but still short. The black is actually more like a very dark brown. I bought my bro the Necali brand with open thumbs. He says those are pretty dope but I have yet to try them. They appear to be of similar quality.

I have the Necalli with velcro and slightly prefer them. The stitching on the back of the hand is different.
I have the Gil's with the Velcro straps but they are totally different from the ones in this video.
@@csquaredboxingwhat do you think about Reyes mitts vs these type of mitts? What about phenom or rival, not that I’m partial to any I just know many people seem to say those are all decent names.
Should I opt for a glove instead if I’m hitting a stiffer /heavier bag 250lb stuffed tight

Nice bag gloves. Say, have you seen Rival rereleased the RB5's? I got a new pair as well as the older P4P pair. The new version has a much firmer grip bar and finer inner mesh compared to the older ones.

Thank you for supporting Carlo, I agree with you on the fingertip area and thumbs, getting these brands to change is like pulling teeth! I'll see if I can have the makers of Gil make these adjustments.
I have an open end of the thumb so they can do that. I think the close thumb is newer design for them. But the seam on fingertip is hard. I can show pictures, but it's impossible on yt
@@dbgrand oh yeah I’ve seen the open thumb, what I’m referring to is elongating the thumb and adding a felt fingertip area.
@@BOXUPNATION the Gil's I bought recently have a completely different strap and no thumb issue. The strap is the same strap as the ones on my Necalli brand.
@@maybebabyny I’ve sold pairs with the slim strap, thick strap, and elastic band. Don’t know what Necalli Carries.

I've got it straight from the Gil workshop. They can be any color you want. Sizing from 00 to 4. Number 3 is size large. Mine are bit different. I have wider velcro and open thumb. They can be either with elastic only.

How did the exposed foam inner hold up after a few months of use?
Is the grip bar metal or of a hard material,? I hate the soft ones because i can't make a stable fist with them.
Hey man, great review. I just wanted to ask if you have any problems with the no boxing no life seller Jorge? I bought 2 pair of gloves last month on the 11th and only one pair came in. I tried asking if there was an issue with the order but he simply just said it's still being processed. Did you have any issues when you bought the glove?

Hey Carlos I noticed that boxupnation doesn't sell these in a size small. I have smaller hands and really wanna get these but I'm worried they'll be too big. Typically I wear Cleto Reyes training 14oz gloves and they fit fine. do you think mediums will be just fine?

Those look really great. How much do they weigh? They also look like they have a little more padding than some other mitts, how's the feedback feel?
@@Markblood889 I haven't weighed them, but they feel the same or maybe lighter than my 10oz gloves. The feedback is great. I'm trying to think what I could compare them to. Well, not as much as a classic bag mitt because you can go hell for leather in these. I used them on the same bag that Carlos uses, the Everlast one, the one were it gets hard toward the bottom. I can crack it on the bottom and really feel it but not to the point where it's painful.
What I really like about these is that I can make a really good fist in them. The thumb is long enough were it won't be tight, and you can get perfect form. I think that's what I like the most about these is how I can make a fist in them and go 100 on the bag if I want. That and how light they are. You can use these on pads, on whatever.. I really like them man. They offer good wrist support too, especially if you strap them at an angle. They are roomy enough also, so it's not hard to get your wrapped hand in there. (Yeah, I use wraps with these, always, because I like to go hard periodically during my sessions.) [BTW: I got size L]

Rival seems to make my favorite atm. I hate the new styles where the foam is too thick and curved. Like the title ones

Wrap. These old school gloves are designed to be wrapped.

Better after they’re broken in and I still have to open the thumbs

Bought a pair 3 months ago, While I only have a double end bag I bloodied my knuckles going bare handed and wrapped so I got them for better feeling punches than a thick modern glove, good for strengthening the wrist and Hand speed, amazing feeling of punches, like barehanded but protected still.
Like mostly all old school bag mitts
