Am I the only one who actually appreciates that the Gladiators knew when to play things up and when to be sportsmen? (Vulcan notwithstanding) It's a nice touch - yes, they're meant to be "the best of the best," but still!
@@drewconway7135Yeah, I met Vulcan when I was 13 at the Portsea Camp. He wasn’t exactly the nicest person even off-camera. I had been asked to do a little performance (the camp counsellors had found out I like to sing) to welcome him and the other celebrity guests who visited, and I noticed him glaring at me when I went to get his autograph later. I was also told afterwards he had been making gestures like he wanted to punch me, a 13-year-old girl, for my performance.
I think originally their outfits were meant to show off their abs, but then they realized there wasn’t anywhere to put their gladiator names on them, so they switched to leotards
21:04 The Referee Was Informing ADAM To Start, The Rule Is You Cannot Stay On The Platform For Longer Than 5 SECONDS After The Starting Whistle Is Blown
Spoiler alert: Something strange here - when Andrew goes through the paper burst in the Eliminator at the end, Adam's paper burst is still intact. However, when Adam finishes his Eliminator, his paper burst is already broken. Hmmm.....
27:15 Referee John Alexander Was Quite Generous Here As TRACEY In My Opinion Did NOT Go Over The Centre Of The Scoring Pod So That 2 POINTS Should NOT Have Been Awarded
A terrible playing of hang tough all around. You have to be bold and quick, not timid and slow. If you approach it with the fear of being caught by the gladiator, you’re going to be caught by the gladiator
Whos finding season 1 a bit cringey. I guess it had to start somewhere. Maybe im viewing it differently now that im a little older and no longer in my teens LOL
Having missed season 1 when it first aired, I’m curious as to when they adopted the UK music for the games. The music they used initially was quite messy.
@@Brucetiki1 It was highly based on the UK version which im guessing is why they used the music for it. I remember one of the gladiators said they watched the UK episodes and based a lot of stuff around it
@@manuelbonilla7348 There's bits of both I've noticed, but this version's arguably closer to the UK version than the US one. When they did the revival, we got the attitude of the US version (all the gladiators had that damn attitude about them that was *really* off-putting) and I think a couple of the events as well compared to the UK one.
Thanks for posting these. I ran out of Who dares wins to watch. Reliving my childhood.
Hahaha i'm doing the exact same thing :)
I must admit I love the sportsmanship in this, ham it up for the viewers but also admit defeat and give compliments when time is great show :)
Yeah the new ones don't do this. They look like school children
enjoy watching this as a kid now older love it still. thank you for uploading this ☺️

It’s rare to see poor sportsmanship from any of the gladiators. Vulcan is one exception, and in later series Predator is another.

Andrew took Taipan ridiculously trying to pull him down by his neck pretty well. Could have been a serious injury.
Oh the 90's hairstyles
I think there was a shortage of hair gel that day
Blimey as ive gotten older I am noticing how attractiving the male challengers are LOL
Ah-ha our first glimpse of The Famous Andrew Halliday of Australian Gladiators!
He could have very well won International Glads if he didnt got injured and beaten that smug Pat
@@ukgladiatorsfan I think so too
@@ukgladiatorsfan To me he remains an UNDEFEATED CHAMPION & he only lost through injury
@@davidfearis7335yeah Andrew would have been international champion if he wasn't injured
Always funny seeing Condor and Hammer wearing bras in the opening.

Andrew was a force of nature.
That manourve in hang tough by Adam is the same one used by Pauline Shirt it is surprisingly not used that often.
Fury is awesome...

OMG flashback !!!
19:14 TAIPAN had Andrew in A Dangerous Head-Lock, TAIPAN gets DISQUALIFIED, 10 POINTS to Andrew!
Disgusting

Says Adam is 159cm surely that's a mistake
Are blade and bernie twins
get yr eyes tested
26:18 How on earth was that a valid goal? She got nowhere near the center of the pod
Yeah the steam should NOT have been released at that moment she didn't go over the centre
Force did not participate in any games this episode.
Neither did Vulcan, thankfully

Tracey's hand was something on the points screen.
And the little indents of the Gladiators talking about an event are interesting.
