    RECRUITER: wtf?

Maybe the law is different in Canada, but isn't it illegal to record a phone call without the consent of both parties?

    • @my_channel_44

If that's going to stop you from taking evidence, you handicap yourself.
      Law, is universal, like gravity.
Legal Code authors like to pretend they write law, and confused people don't know the difference. Don't be confused.

I used to drive for TAK Trucking back in 2019 and they are a good company to drive for. They will keep you running and making that money 💰. As soon as you said you were calling a company from Elk Grove Village, IL I instantly knew you were talking about TAK Trucking lol

2 weeks out and only two days off ? What a horrible existence ! Why would anybody want to do this ? There are much better local and regional driving jobs that pay well.

Just comment what I’ve dealt with last 2 years.
First company truck always broke down. They put me in a used one when they had new trucks coming in. I was in the shop more than I actually worked.
Second and next company Recruiter lied to me. I have my own authority I’m not interested in listening to a lease purchase pitch. If I want a truck I’ll call a bank myself. They harassed me in orientation because I wasn’t paying attention to their lease purchase pitch when I was there for a company driver position. Gave a notice at end of year before Christmas. They cut me loose over Christmas.
Next company “a Christian Family Oriented” weren’t very good Christian’s.
4th and last. Wife as witness I discussed with them governed speed, running regional, benefits, and 65 cents per mile which I was negotiable on. I got 43 cpm “ not what I agreed to”. OTR instead of regional. Yearly bonus of $1000 instead of $5000. Also was told in Orientation they pay a quarterly bonus for every mile driven. Lie. I live in Atlanta so I pay for parking. I’m not reimbursed for that or scale fees. Miles aren’t even over 2000 miles most weeks out. I wasn’t settling I was looking for a good fit for me. All lies still here since I have a kid going into college and my wife is sick.
I’m looking for new job BTW

I totally agree unfortunately a lot of the companies that I’ve seen in United States that hire new drivers have this kind of schedule and I find it to be horrible. I also see jobs that say you can stay out as long as three months at a time.
What I see is for every seven days that you are out is one day off with a lot of these companies. 😢

This is a great channel. I’m really enjoying the videos. This is quality content, and in my research I’ve seen so many things that are concerning with companies and their advertised driver positions.
Thank you so much. This channel is a real blessing. !!❤😊

Not every company with a sign on bonus is bad. I got a $5000 sign on bonus 90 days after starting with my current company. It’s a local grocery store and I bumped docs for six or seven hours a day and I bring home six figures. The reason they are having trouble keeping drivers is a four year scale to top pay and pay up with performance pay not just hourly. People see $18 an hour and get off but I average over $45-$50 an hour on a really bad day. And I’ve only been here a year and a half so it’s just gonna get better. And a majority of their drivers are on the verge of or already retired so that’s their main reason for needing more drivers. We have drivers that have been here since the 70s. lol. And we are union so base pay is gonna be 40/hr in the next 2-3 years which means 70-80/hr after performance pay.

Do truck drivers improve with age?
(Earlier today, I had a flat nose driver running less than 10 feet behind my trailer. It seems 50mph down a hill and around a bend, fully loaded, is offensive to these people. Now there are some EXPERIENCED DRIVERS for you.)
