It’s the same dumb argument about Jimmie shouldn’t have 7 championships and gordan should have more or if Tim Richmond didn’t die then dale would have 7 or petty shouldn’t count his 200 wins it’s kinda like it is what it is and racing is a lot of luck with strategy mixed with skill and car it’s not just 1 thing and if you lack any of those no matter what it is you don’t win.

Going to Pocono for over 20 years now, traffic has definitely been a problem the past 2 years. Since the 2010’s you would be able to drive right into the parking lot about an hour before the green flag. Last year got stuck in 2+ hour traffic and missed the first few laps. This year we had to plan like going to a nascar race in the 2000’s. We got there early in the morning. And even started tailgating post race again because traffic getting out was a nightmare for at least over an hour. Great to see crowds coming back, but some tracks haven’t been prepared for that, like Dover this year as well

I think the parking issue has everything to do with attendance. Pocono repurposed/sold the old parking lots across Long Pond Road sometime in the late 00’s or early 10’s - I remember the shuttles that used to go out there. Now there’s just the lots around the grandstands. We didn’t have a parking issue when we arrived at 1pm, but we were only like 2 rows from Long Pond Road so capacity is for sure a concern

Totally agree with you Eric about Corey. Thanks for explaining the issues with Kyle Busch’s car pre race. I was on Pit Road yesterday and I snapped a photo of his car on the grid. I continued walking around before settling in on a spot where they bring cars out. You could imagine my shock when I was watching his crew push the car back out onto the Grid as I never saw them remove it. I had assumptions as to why but thanks to you now I know. I don’t know if viewers fully realize just how close it was to race time when they got the car back out there.

After going to Pocono 5 times, here’s my advice from experiance with parking and traffic. You have to not get there too early, or too late. It’s a delicate balance. You get there to early, you will be so far up that you’ll wait to get out for 1 to 2 hours. Get there to late, miss the start of the race (has never happened to me fortunately). You have to time it just right so you get there when your further towards the back of the parking, so you when the race is over, you won’t spend more than 30 minuets sitting in your car. I generally try to get there like 2 hours before the start so I can eat, than walk around the fan zone, and by the time that’s done it’s time to head to the seats for the race.
