Love this album, takes to a happy place when you drift off listening to it. Bought the cd years ago when cds new so disappointed the beginning was cut off 🤷♂️
One of the most beautiful and difficult guitar solos I heard along my 69 years. I play guitar and compose short pieces only for solo guitar. I can tell you that this solo is ALMOST TECHNICALLY "IMPOSSIBLE". When I heard for the first time I was 29 years old, when incantations was released ( 1978-79 ). Up to now, I never listened to anything similar along all these decades. But it's not totally impossible because Mike played it... But maybe it was skipped in live performances on the Exposed Tour due to terrible difficulty and the danger of a mistake, even with Mike... This solo is based on a musical structure named the "cycle of fifths". It's HIGHLY COMPLEX... Incantations is, to a considerable extent, all based on the cycle of fifths. No doubt, one of the best and sadly underated Oldfield albums. Best regards !
@@nelsonsoucasaux2751 Check this guy out. ruclips.net/video/mYXn5fvQp7M/видео.html He's a Spanish performer, and he's become by his own merits the "official Oldfield performer", acclaimed by fans from all over the globe. His act "Tubular Tribute" is required wherever there is an Oldfield convention. Quality stuff. The closest sound to Oldfield's trademark guitar sound.
If Mike Oldfield and Co had skipped Guilty, they could easily fit this awesome guitar piece and the rocking bit from the middle of Incantations Part 4 into the original Incantations concerts but sadly not to be.
Sounds like this guy was locked in a room from when he was 2 years old with nothing but a guitar. abso-fcuking-lutely mind-blowing. But at what cost. Does he even know what day it is?
This is a best guitarsolo ever made in musicalhistory!!! Unique and emotional...thanks.
Fantastic 👍🎶🙂 and Great Album 👍🎧🙂
The most undervalued artist. This emotional solo is inreproduced for any guitarist

This is genius...with a capital GENIUS
Never-ever witnessed a guitar player that expressive.
Merci pour votre partage cela m'a replongé dans mon adolescence..
Most underrated album in the history of music.
Mike is a mensch
I totally agree!!! 👍Oldfield for ever
One of my favourite sections of Incantations. And they always skipped it while playing live!

Don't forget the potencial sound of druming...👍 Oldfield for ever.
A Musical Masterpiece.
I Foocking LOVE this!! Mike Oldfield deserves far recognition as a guitar player!! At the stature of Gilmour or knoffler
I don't like comparisons among the greatest, but Oldfield is much better... And I truly love Gilmour ! P.S.: I play guitar ( modestly )...
@@nelsonsoucasaux2751 Mike will always be the best.
oldfield gilmour... jeff beck steve howe steve hackett ry cooder jerry garcia peter green john mclaughlin
Don"t forget the drums section, pls !! Oldfield for ever 👍
For anyone who wants to skip straight to the solo its starts at 1:19. What follows is 5 minutes and 3 seconds of pure artistic genius.
An absolute work of ART.
Oldfield at his best. Later too mainstream, but he remains a legend.
My favorite solo by Mike Oldfield. I like all his music esp Hergest Ridge but this solo is amazing
Missed the lovely transition at the start.
No words , only feeling thx mike
Spine tingling.
All that I wanted to tell you without speaking. Hope you will hear before it all ends.
sublime !
Qué locura. Probablemente el mejor pasaje de solo de guitarra de la obra de Oldfield, y mi favorito.
