I live in Hyde park. Sold my car. I walk everywhere. My cleaners is on the same block where I reside. The lakefront is one block from my home. Public transportation/bus stop is located at corner of my building. The drugstore, Grocer and post office are three blocks from my home. I have never experienced theft of my home or car. I’ve never been robbed. I love the city with the exception of the cold weather. The architecture is amazing.
can i ask how much you spend monthly? i’m moving to chicago and trying to get a good idea on the expenses. i live in a city currently so i know things can get expensive, but id just like an idea of how much! thanks in advance
The video says that a con of living in Lakeview is distance from downtown. I've been here 20 years, and a bus trip downtown is very easy. Time it takes depends on rush hours, but generally you can get downtown in about 30 minutes. Express buses will get you there even faster. There is also the Belmont "L" stop which is a major hub for trains. Shopping in Lakeview is walkable, and we have an excellent hospital here (Illinois Masonic). This neighborhood is probably on the high end of affordable - more expensive than Rogers Park and Buena Park, but cheaper than Lincoln Park, Gold Coast and Streeterville.
I visit once a year for a festival and I've had a wonderful time each visit! So much stuff to do and see, tons of awesome food, gorgeous scenery and neighborhoods to venture around.
Those are good neighborhoods, but you left out the best: Gold Coast. That's my building on the left at 12:53 and 13:27. I have an unobstructed view of Lincoln Park and the North Av. Beach.

@@ScoDiddley, I know but still on the South Side. I’ve been there several times. One of my nieces lived there. I went to a Mexican restaurant in Pilsen.
@@aprilclover2429 I lived there, too. I always considered anything on that side of the river southwest. Also, I stopped watching the video because it seemed to be plugging only wealthy, white areas.
@@ScoDiddley, it is southwest but when you’re talking about Chicago, it’s South Side, North Side, or West Side primarily. Yes, technically it is southwest but so is 79th and Ashland but who cares? 😄
Lived in Lincoln Park for 11 years on lake view Had killer 40th floor lake views. Loved it but about 3 years ago things started to change. Now there are daily petty crimes, muggings. Car jackings, shootings and occasionally street murders. Got to the point we no longer were comfortable walking the dog even in the daytime. Sold it. Took my boat from Diversey harbor and moved to a beach villa in New Buffalo, mi. More laid back but much safer. An hour and 15 but a lifetime away. Scary and sad
I can't tell if the voice is a robot/artificial intelligence. If not, they're definitely not from Chicago with all the mispronounced words...IE "polish" (as in polish your shoes) instead of Polish (Pole-ishh). And "lattenno" instead of Latino? And its "six-oh-six" not "six hundred and six". Maybe they should have hired a local to read the script!!
This is one of the better AI voices I've heard in these kinds of videos - which is so important since so many RUclips companies don't want to hire a real person to read a script. Still, it is aggravating to listen to robots frequently mispronounce things, put the accent on the wrong syllable, and use that monotonous tone without any natural inflection. It's just a really cheap way to go and does not convey any credibility whatsoever.
How has the narrator never pronounced the words “Polish” and “Latino”? And how did they let this get published with such basic words being mid-pronounced? Just. Wow.

Hyde Park is nice, some areas of the Southside sporadic, South Suburbs is cool, South Holland, Country Club Hills, Olympia Fields, Glenwood

I loved growing up in the Edgewater/Rogers Park area.
That's my home and I love it.
The City is a mecca of activities for all life styles. Like NY, but half the headaches and price.

Pilsen is about as far away from downtown as Wicker Park. However, it is more disconnected from other "trendy" neighborhoods.

what's up from Jefferson Park, Chicago! 🇺🇲
I wouldn’t call the West Loop family friendly. Not many green spaces, no trees. It’s very industrial and better suited to young singles and couples.
Hello Tanya
Facts
Clearing neighborhood is good I lived many years,is southwest of the city of Chicago.
All good info, but I suspect that the narrator’s voice is computer generated.

Many mispronunciations.
I don't think the narrator ever met a Polish or Latino person in their life.
I think it's just an AI bot reading a script.
