Great video, some happy memories of Nottingham....I visited the City Centre earlier this year....A ghost town slum, boarded up shops, Nail Bars, Turkish Barber money laundering and filth....This is progress?....🤔😳🙄🇬🇧
1:19 my blood is boiling at how well kept Old Trent Bridge looked back then to what it does today. Litter, weeds, uncut grass, unswept roads. what a disgrace
Not all 1969. some scenes go back to the big freeze, thats when highfields froze and we went ice skating. They floodlit the lake at night for night skating.
Look at how busy Vicky embankment was and the pleasure boats! I was between 3 and 6

A very interesting video. I love the tones of the videos from this time. Also look at how simple life looks, not a bloody mobile phone in site!!
Times in a lot of respects were much better, kids today have no idea!
The best days of British society as gone,
this is just before the citty planerers compleatly messed nottingham up
Watched the first 20 seconds… looks gorgeous and saving the rest now for later. 😉
The early scenes in the Market Square are pre 1966 as the trolleybuses are still running.
After review this seems correct I will amend the video comments to state this, thank you for your feedback
@@bhdx.productions Forgot to say a most enjoyable video with lots of memories for me, thank you for posting.

It’s so sad not sure where we will be in the next 10 years!
@@bhdx.productions I'm hopeful it can be turned round

Thank you for pointing this out I will add comments to the main description
I’m surprised at how many cars there were on Trent Bridge and in the city centre. Thought it would be quieter back then.
Very interesting, thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to reply :)
Was that crane working at the City Ground?
If anyone knows please comment, great to look back on these films and understand more about the content, thanks for your feedback
@@bhdx.productions I think the crane is on the site of what was to become the Bridgford Hotel. The building still stands but as apartments now.
