    I think this PC has some other type of software issue going on causing this type of driver error, I didnt experience any problems like that on my Z790 Asrock build. One bottleneck you had in MW2 using this 8gb version vs the 16 gb version is that it uses more than 8 gb of video memory on 4k, you should be getting 100-120 fps if that was the 16 gb version. While cool the 8GB version has limits the 16 GB resolves but I looks cool. ARC is great in 4k though glad someone tested it like this on youtube.

    I think they B series cards will be much better. I think it'll be hard for Intel to fix all the issues with these with just drivers. I really hope Intel becomes a competitive force in this space, but I don't think it'll be with them generation.

    • @Dirtdiver325
      @Dirtdiver325 Год назад +1

      Considering the specs of the cards, I believe working on the drivers is exactly what will fix them. The a770 should perform just below the 3080 (non-ti). Drivers are extremely important. After all, it's essentially what Windows/Linux are to a PC; if the OS isn't optimized, regardless of your specs, it's gonna suck (remember Vista? hahaha). The thing is that unlike AMD/Nvidia, Intel hasn't had time to fully perfect theirs just yet - it'll come.
      I'm sure their B series cards are going to be much faster (and they're also going to benefit from already established drivers), but my guess is that those will be competing with the higher end cards of both AMD/Nvidia with a slight advantage... Lower price point.

    My biggest recommendation with ARC as someone who has been using it for a few months is to ONLY install the driver and not have Arc Control installed. It literally does nothing but bloat the pc and allegedly it even hampers the card's performance slightly. I have been just using it on the driver with almost no issues, and in place of the recording suite from Arc Control I am just using the built-in Xbox DVR stuff from windows, which works just as well, if not better. It even has instant replay like the Nvidia/AMD softwares do.
    This video is underselling the perf of Arc a bit, in games like Cyberpunk its actually significantly outperforming both a 3060 and 6600, especially at 1440p.

You can easily get 2700Mhz out of any desktop Arc card and boost performance by 10 to 15%.) or change the fan curve, you have to live with it. I'm really hoping that Intel allows for memory overclocking in future drivers so you can really push the thing, but stability and baseline performance come first.

    Intel can pull it off and I'm sure we'll have some compelling options later during the current gen or next. COVID-19 threw everyone's timing off but I think Intel should come out with something during the odd years between when NVIDIA and AMD clash during the release year of their new generations. Intel can come after NVIDIA and AMD have released their lower end GPUs of the generation and come in with better and lower priced options than the xx60 series (i.e 3060, 4060, etc.) or equivalent AMD series (i.e. 6700, 7700). I cannot see them competing with the xx80s NVIDIAs and equivalent AMDs just yet but if they can come in like AMD did with the RX480/RX580, I think they will do quite well.

      Yeah the A770 competes with the 6700XT price range right now and the A750 competes with the 6600 and sometimes the 6600XT but they have a long way to go likely. For most titles the 6700XT blows the A770 out of the water even with 4GB less VRAM. I hope they can progress fast and put out really good cards that force AMD and NVIDIA to decline in sales a lot and make the market more competitive if that's possible instead of 70 and 80 series NVIDIA cards costing so much unlike prior. I know a lot has changed and technology advances and research and building everything costs a lot but still :( I still remember getting my MSI GTX 970 years back for I think $329 but I missed out on the settlement class action rip. Still was an amazing card and lasted me years. Even back then the 980 and 980 ti were less than a 60 and 70 series card nowadays I think at launch price or close.

    Yes there are software issues, Intel themselves admit that on their own pages for this product. You are definitely being a bit of a beta tester for these GPUs.
    However, the drivers have come along leaps and bounds. If you're willing to accept some bugs, there could be some VERY interesting performance jumps coming very soon, much like the December 2022 update which improved some DX9 games around 80%+ in FPS.
    Also the overlay is being swapped out for a nicer interface, confirmed on LTT.

    "FPS remained largely unchanged at different resolutions" = Immature drivers. You can't compare drivers for ARC GPUs with intel's integrated offerings over the years. Intel's integrated offerings have been iterative with a few brief deviations (IRIS and IRIS pro) where they had a bit more of an architectural change but even then, the designs were still based on existing silicon. ARC is more comparable to Ryzen when it launched. You could see the potential and the strength of the architecture but it was plagued compatibility issues, bugs and a lack of software optimizations. This is new territory for intel and it's not just on them, the industry will take time to incorporate their architecture specific optimizations. The games that are seen to work well likely optimized for ARC already, at least to some extent while others have little to no optimization for the architecture.
    Next gen ARC will show significant improvements but you will find many of those improvements will likely trickle down to the current generation in the form of driver optimizations, game optimizations and other improvements on the driver/firmware level. IMO, we may see the current ARC GPU range mature into much more capable GPUs in a year or so. Intel had to compete in the market as it is today, a few decades ago this would have remained in development another 2 - 3 years. People today want the new thing now, they don't want to wait for the kinks to be ironed out or at least catering to those that feel this way doesn't hit the bottom line as much as it used to. We are used to being beta testers for tech these days, hell, 90% of modern games are launched in what used to be considered a beta stage of development, many are not even properly complete until a year or more after launch with patches and DLC.
