Kettle no longer working: What are inside? What went wrong? (#291)
Our kettle stopped working yesterday. The LEDs are still on when you switch on the kettle but no heat!
I tried to open it up and find out what went wrong. It proved that the heater element was broken and not economical to repair.

@@RepairDIY yep, i remember when you could easily buy 'standard' kettle elements !

@@andygozzo72 yes, but it should be not cheap, thus replacing the kettle may be the best choice. After that kettle broke, we took a nearly new kettle in storage, which costed £6 from a supermarket, and after 3 year, this £6 kettle is still working well. have a good day!

I bought a new kettle, idk why I boiled milk in it yesterday but I did and now the temperature sensor thing isn't working fine... I'm so sad. It turns off when water is just lukewarm. Sometimes i cam manually try to press the button and it ends up boiling and sometimes the button doesn't even go down even though water isn't boiled yet. Can you help me what can I do 😭

hi, the kettle turns off when the steam heated up the bimetal disk and caused it flip. the milk foam may have coated the thermo disk? it should need a clean up but I don't know how. It is possible that your kettle will clean itself up after a few days? you could also try descale it : mybudgetrecipes.com/heres-what-to-do-with-a-kettle-that-keeps-switching-off/
