The idea is from the Swedish/danish show "Bron", and a great part of the story actually takes place on the Öresundsbron, the bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden.
    Thought it'd worth mentioning.

People get offended by a remark that she´s doing about our American idiosyncrasy, when she implies that we love guns, especially T.V. shows that promote violence, which is totally true. After the 3rd Reich, Germans repels violence, believe me. I visit Europe every year, for about 3 to 4 months, due some of the research studies that I implement, in the sociology field. Wether we like it or not, the word stereotypes actually exists, because there are some peculiar patterns of conducts and custom practiced in every culture, due sociological & genetic incidencies. Simple as that.

Diane Kruger is German. In Germany, Obi-Wan's name is pronounced "Obi-Van" because of the way Germans pronounce their Ws. If anything, her pronunciation is proof that she is a devoted fan. She grew up watching "Obi-Van" accompany Luke on his journey, not "Obi-Wan." That pronunciation is ingrained into her. So in a conversational situation like this, it wouldn't even occur to her to use the English pronunciation. She's probably been calling him "Obi-Van" since she was just a child.

From my experience most people don't speak English properly. I know I don't on a daily basis, but it is dependent on who I am talking to. You can often tell which people can't speak the language well, and which ones are just choosing to speak in a more relaxed vernacular though. I will say that with all of the convoluted and contradictory rules in the English language, that I highly doubt anyone speaks it 100% correctly.

Interesting take. I'm a Canadian- reputation notwithstanding I think we are actually quite high in the guns per capita stats among industrialized countries, but compared to the states they do not loom that large. It's comparatively uncommon for "gun crime" to affect regular people. We've had some high profile incidents over the decades, there was one 8 years ago in which a guy with a rifle killed an unarmed soldier on sentry, then shamed the pitiful security around our parliament. On the whole, "gun crime" only little affects regular people. Toronto is periodically convulsed by small scale "mass shootings" that turn out to be young wannabe gang members testing each other. Rare for innocents to be affected, so that's good.
That's almost all illegal guns. We are also high in the legal guns per capita stats, but it's quite difficult to get and keep them legally.
All that to say, in everyday life Canadians scarcely encounter guns let alone use them, and yet I concede I'm a little taken aback by an actor unwilling to handle one or perform in such a scene. I would have thought that more likely for someone from a country with high rates of everyday gun violence, not Germany.

Because when I hear an american say things like "more better", I get chills down my spine. A person who's so bad at using his native language has to mocked. English is like my 4th language, and it even sounds wrong to me when its not spoken properly. Its also one of the simplest languages in the world to learn...so a person who grows up in an english speaking country, and still cant use it properly is just ridiculous.
