    I recall something from the 70s it was called Battle of the Network Stars. Stars from the popular network tv shows competed in atheletic events, a different kind of progamming that aso became popular.

    Actually as a small child I was exposed to reruns of The Lucy Show before ILL, so it was strange to me they were calling Viv "Ethel"! Haha! We got more Blue Chip Stamps than S & H and my mom also collected the Betty Crocker points coupons on General Mills products and Gold Medal Flour bags!

    Sorta reaching at the end there... for that Soviet hockey game, elder Gen X were nearly in their 20s when it went down. I'm expecting the next one shown to be memorable to elder millenials when I hit play once more.

    TV commercials which featured actors and characters from the shows they advertised. Granny from Beverly Hillbillies and Samantha Stevens from Bewitched in character selling Kellogg's Corn Flakes and Cars. Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound interacting with the Kellogg's Rooster and Snap, Crackle, Pop.
