Not sure how this ended up in my feed but I had to watch. You can tell how much he loved Whitney, the passion in his eyes said it all. You could feel his energy. You could see it in Whitney’s eyes too! I loved the way he looked at her. You could tell she felt like a woman that was desired and wanted. He would have never brought any drama to her. We knew that he was in love with her for the way he looked at her in the bodyguard and for the way he spoke about her 😊. But it was just the wrong time because He was married at that time with his first wife and She was engaged with Bobby Brown.
What a lot of people don't realize is that Whitney was deeply ingrained in her black culture. She once said in an interview that she could never imagine herself in a deep relationship with a white man. It was just too foreign for her to even contemplate. Myself, watching the movie, I instantly picked up on Kevin's strong attraction toward Whitney. Sadly, some things are never meant to be. Honestly, I believe she would have eventually broken his heart.

I'm black myself and a lot of black family don't like interracial relationship. We forget that around that time, she was receiving a lot of complaints from her peers who were saying that she wasn't black enough, a sell out and started calling her "whitey" just because she was singing pop songs. Anyway she should have behaved like Diana Ross who date white and black men without caring about what people were saying about her.

I had the biggest debate with my twin sons walking out of the movie theater after watching 'The Bodyguard' the first week it played. I told them that you and Whitney did not and could not act your roles. The roles took on LOVE endowed from on HIGH. They both argued that you were both very good actors/actresses and of course you both made it appear real. Those are the capabilities and qualities of good experienced actors/actresses were their rebuttals. They thought they were qualified to know from drama camps growing up, from theater in high school, and acting in college. I have something much greater and IT teaches me from within. Sure enough, it was revealed that Whitney was not a veteran actress. In fact she had never acted prior to 'The Bodyguard'. And you confirmed my intuition in every interview: "Whitney was my first real love." And no doubt in my mind you were Whitney's first real love, too. Her interviews regarding 'The Bodyguard' and Kevin Costner were dead give-aways. I can only imagine how your LOVE for each other would have played out in the real world had she been strong enough to withstand the outside forces of haters from a relationship with YOU. YOU two would have been a heavenly force to be reckoned with, her singing and your acting producing bigger and better than 'The Bodyguard'--- just the tip of the iceberg. Thank you for allowing her to know exactly how special and loved she was by waiting for her and only her to play Rachel. YOU were correct; Whitney was the most perfect for Rachel. And I would say, YOU were the most perfect to be her bodyguard. I love LOVE stories guided by the SPIRIT. The Bodyguard is one of my most favorites. It has a special place in my HEART of hearts. Certainly Bobby Brown was already abusing drugs when he met Whitney and sadly he made her situation worse with the drug use and his abuse of her. Between the stressful lifestyle she began living, constantly touring to mainly support her relatives, and her also feeling she had to hide her sexuality as well as having endured abuse as a child she sought solace temporarily in drugs and then the drugs took hold of her especially as she tie to cope with various issues and the drugs seemed to provide a temporary solace at the time for her. Whitney's relatives, especially her mother. sadly were not supportive at all of Whitney's sexuality and this led to Robyn Crawford being pressured to leave Whitney's side and her role in trying to help manage the tours of Whitney. Had Robyn remained in Whitney's life, and not so many of her toxic and judgmental family members, Whitney might still be alive. Whilst Keven Costner was and remains a wonderful and down-to-earth man who also cared about Whitney, we can only speculate about how much he might have been able to positively influence her. At the time they made "The Bodyguard" Whitney was dating Bobby Brown and Costner was married plus Whitney was abusing cocaine whilst the film was being made so if she wouldn't heeded Robyn, who had been her best friend since childhood, it is sadly unlikely she wouldn't have heeded Kevin Costner, either. It is a pity that Whitney didn't meet Costner when the two were both single.
Wondering if they stayed together, would Ms. Houston would still be alive? Sad. Nice lady in a very toxic business, as someone already stated.

He was very clear when he explained, The Bodyguard, was written for Whitney Houston. The music, songs, everything was always with Whitney Houston as the person to play the lead role of ‘A Star’ and no other. It was an incredibly touching funeral but Costner was eloquent when he described knowing no one but Whitney could play this Role as she had the talent to carry such an in-depth yet talented ‘Star’ and Singer. She was brilliant in the lead role. There was NO Mention of Princess Diana. Costner & Whitney we’re perfect in their roles. Diana, though lovely, had no experience and certainly wasn’t the accomplished recording artist which Whitney Houston was. It was always meant for Whitney! From Costner himself at Whitney Houston’s funeral. He was a keynote speaker and was with the family, who all knew him well.

Sadly Whitney made some bad choices or perhaps swayed into making bad choices. Biggest mistake was hooking up with that POS Bobby Brown, his addictions became hers. Had she allowed herself to think more about herself and for herself, Kevin would have been her one true love as well. She probably would still be alive because Kevin would have been there, body and soul for her. All the people that were her hanger-on people only cared about her as a money machine, Bobby included. Tragic ending to her life...Got to disagree with your comment at 2:00 because Kevin knew when they were filming that he had those real feelings about her. OMG how can you mispronounce recognition?? Whitney could have learned to be strong and independent like Tina Turner who went through much more worse abuse in her marriage and was an unloved unwanted child who never received love or family support from her childhood. But Tina Turner was wise. Whitney Houston was not wise like Tina. They were contemporary singing super stars and Whitney always could have reached out to those trustworthy for valuable advice and broken free from her drug addiction and other bondages and controlling people in her life like Tina Turner did.

So that Halloween I begged my MOM to buy me a Big curly blonde WIG she gave me my elder sisters White lace babydoll shirt and D bra( She filled water balloons to fit it) I put on my moms high heels and red lip stick I was Dolly. I went to my Mawmaw house and she had me perform . My song " I would always love you " but the Whitney Houston version. I felt proud

I'm getting vibes that Kevin let Whitney know exactly how he felt about her...Whitney knew. But she was married and had preference....so he backed off...and let her be, likely to the point of not maintaining contact with her...until he was asked to reach out to her. I think Kevin felt rejected in that they couldn't be together in the way he wanted but obliged. But somehow he knew that she felt his support of her as a man was the most profound that she had ever experienced. Likely, there were moments where they were near emotional union...but he didn't persist pursue long enough. That is his regret. He knows that they came really close and we're almost there at some point in time.

That's why she was chasing Bobby and latching into him to prove her blackness. At the same time Kevin was going through his marriage woes.
