Mulgrew was one of the greats of his generation. first saw him in Betty Carter's band it the Quiet Night in Chicago; we were young. Saw his last Chicago appearance at Jazz Showcase. Very memorable performance.

Mulgrew Miller was at the New Morning Club, Paris, in February 1997 and the concert was just amazing ! I shall always remember his version of JUST FRIENDS. 17 minutes long ! It was in a trio setting (Richie Goods and Kariem Riggins if I do well remember). I later heard that the ORTF (or France Musique) had recorded the whole set. Why not publish it ?

This seems actually to be the saxophone player's session with Mulgrew Miller playing piano.
