- I had an empty tissue box and some other garbage lying around, so I crafted this Bath House from Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away, aka 千と千尋の神隠しより「油屋」
This is episode one in an ongoing series on crafting various things from my favorite Studio Ghibli films. Stay tuned for more episodes, including the culminating final episode which will join all Studio Ghibli crafts into one diorama.

This is probably the only person in the world who, when they say “I won’t throw this {insert random piece of junk} out because I might use it some day” genuinely does.
🤣 I feel so attacked!
This is your daily reminder to start using your random junk, folks!
Yes! I actually have a Tee Turtle shirt with a little fox carrying(overloaded with!) potions and swords and various knick knacks and it says "I might need this later"
I do
I feel attacked. I have a recycling bin in my room that is filled with plastic packaging and other trash bits like cardboard and stuff. I’ve used some plastic for crafts but I really need to learn how to use items lol

gonna be honest here, if there’s a thing i envy in artists is how easily some of them just go with the flow and have fun. if i were to do a project like this i would mesure out everything, make a detailed plan with every proportion, and (if i managed to keep going after it already stressed me out) end up crying when it eventually didn’t work the way i planned.
You're one step ahead of me, then. My impatient ADHD ass wouldn't even get past 5 minutes of anything since I have zero patience which sucks since I'm an art major and love watching crafting videos lol.
I'll give some advice then, which helped me. Buy "Wreck this Journal" by Keri Smith. The point is to truly attempt to ruin the book, not to make it pretty. Which is a lot harder than it sounds, actually. But it's great exercise in letting go the need to be perfect. Once you allow yourself the freedom to make a mess without apology, it changes something inside you and begins to release the need to make all other projects "perfect". You learn that pretty much anything you do to the journal can be worked around, or even made into a beautiful feature. you begin to trust yourself to figure it out when there's a problem. It did me a world of good.
1st rule of art is, no matter how much you plan, plot, measure or redo, no project is ever going to be exactly like what you first imagined it to be, but that's one of the greatest things! Most things that you improvise are some of the best elements of the piece of art. You can look back and say 'Hey, I didn't have it all figured out, but it still turned out brilliant!'
Over time you begin to trust your crafting instincts more.
Make a quick doodle sketch and get at it!

Nice seeing you again lol
Thank you, also hi!
It is! Also it's nice to see you here Kat!
Discovered your channel at 6 am this morning to distract me from my mind. I've now watched every video and I'm very excited for your future RUclips career. I love your puns, your jokes, your nerdy pop ins and of course the actual content. The details are incredible, the time you put in and the end result. I absolutely love the way your videos are done. Can't wait for more. I have so many suggestions 🤣 but I'm also sleep deprived now and don't wanna come off as a crazy.
Can't wait for more. Also my daughter watched with me and she says your among us video is her favourite and requests more. She also requested that we become friends so I can make her one lol. Children are funny.
Feed me those suggestions! I really love hearing that (just like Kix) my videos are Kid Tested, Mother Approved. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave this comment, and in a sleep-deprived state no less! Thank you!

This is almost the same as my story. I'm very happy right now. New sub. New fan.
A 6 am distraction from my head as well, of the migraine sort, and I absolutely concur!
Love this humour infused tutorial! You must be youtube's 'zefrank' of the model- making world. Thank you for choosing to use materials that are easy to come by, as well as using not too many tools, making the project inviting to those who want to have a go but don't have a great deal of equipment to start with. Also, bonus points galore for finding such an attractive use for one of the ugliest materials known to crafting!
I really love how you actually provide evidence of how truly incredible art can be made for dirt cheap. I see so many videos claiming to be cost friendly and then being like all you need is a 3D printer and this incredibly obscure piece of niche equipment that serves exactly one purpose.
"this garbage makes an excellent crafting material", my mom about me when I got into med school

*Derek Zoolander* : “What is this?! _A CENTER FOR ANTS_ ?!! How can the spirits be able to bathe and replenish themselves _if they can't even fit inside the building_ ? The Bathhouse has to be at least............ _THREE_ times bigger than this!!”
Okay, but seriously, I wanna say as a Studio Ghibli fan and a lover of "Spirited Away", this replica miniature is gorgeous! The fact you made a whole bathhouse by using a tissue box is impressive!
Honestly, this proves that we can literally recycle materials that we have at home to reconsider throwing them away, it’s my first time watching and i’m already in love with it, keep going!
Amen!
It's been a not so well kept secret among crafters for YEARS that you never throw away a cereal box. That's a valuable craft supply.

4:50 You mentioned that you avoided choosing beams or anything that had to do with the number four, and I think that's a neat attention to detail! A lot of people are superstitious in Japanese culture and I appreciate you adding attention to that detail ☺️

Not only is this video awesome but when you said your first Patron was Eric Barone I was like, "Wait... is it THE Eric Barone? The dude that singlehandedly created Stardew Valley?" The world may never know
I was wondering the same thing!
I’m guessing it is considering the video uploaded right before this is the wizards tower from Stardew valley, and ConcernedApe commented on it!
We found your channel looking for something to help calm my daughter down for bed since visual stimuli is something that helps keep her settled, but I like trying to keep her nighttime video consumption to something more calm and soothing - and this was perfect. My daughter is a huge Ghibli fan and she asked for all the Ghibli videos personally after we watched the Pokemon Center - and I am not totally in love. My craft of choice is plush making and I enjoy it thoroughly, but I absolutely LOVE seeing how other crafters handle the details and techniques of their projects and these are just lovely. Your jokes are on point and your techniques are some of the best I've seen. Can't wait to see more!

most of these building channels use dollar store items and im already super impressed but this person just rummages around their house, cuts it up, glues it together and bam its beautiful
Wow... Just wow! This one of the coolest things ever! Wow!!!
It looks incredible.
I’m both encouraged and given so much anxiety by how imprecise you are. As someone who always gets caught up in the details in all my craft endeavours it’s so good to be reminded that you can make cool shit without being obsessed with “perfection”
My painting style is rather messy and I use colors like Howl's moving castle has, and I can say I'm obsessed with everything being perfectly imperfect :')
It's either a curse or a blessing because I would spend hours to perfect drawings, then later finding out how horrible it is ahha
I'm the same but after becoming a welder it's calmed down in me as welding as a practice is imprecise BECAUSE of humans, literally day 1 you're taught no human weld will ever be perfect as just our hear beats throws off our hand movements and affect our welds even very slightly so you just have to accept you'll never be perfect
So disappointed that youtube is just now recommending this channel to me when crafting and sarcasm is essentially my family crest. I've never been so entertained while watching someone make something that great, dude. Thanks for all your hard work (on the crafting *and* the editing, seriously that must have taken ages with all those quick clips and audio bits worked in all over the place)
thats cool
Yesss that's exactly how I feel! Lol I was like "how am I only now just discovering this?" But I am glad I am here and subscribed
I cant believe how real and authentic this looks! but the most impressive thing is how steady it is, I feel like when I glue stuff with crafting glue you have to touch it super carefully or it breaks immediately
Watching this before bed to relax myself :)
