The Dmada stuff is made really well, you are gonna be glad you got it, I had some other smaller bags made at the same time I got my firecan bag. I keep straps and stuff in the back of the car in the other bags. We love our firecan bag. Currently I have the Elite Firecan in the Dmada bag and because I have lava rocks in the Elite I keep the propane hose and a long lighter in the front zip pouch. That also keeps the hose from getting any dirt on it too.

    I’d really like to order the Dmada bag but will search for a more economical option first. I see the bags are now shipping with side carry handles, a nice touch. Your videos are super well done. I settled on the elite model ,mainly for a bit cleaner burning flame.

      A more economical case may be the tackle box bag in the video from Walmart and Ozark Trail. I think I paid 22 dollars through Walmart. I did some research for you and the Ozark Trail bag holds 3 3600 clear tackle boxes so if you want something similar in size do a search for a tackle bag that holds 3 clear 3600 tackle boxes!! You should be able to find something from 25 to 60 dollars. Another option would be look for something that holds an ammo can!!

      @@WhyWeLikeIt Well, to begin with, I'm actually not installing it per se.
      I've got a lot of flammable things in my floor and in the walls since it's a conversion van. Since it will be outside,all the carbon monxide and high heat exhaust will be outside. If it bursts into flames, it's outside. I'm just drilling a 3 inch hole In the side of my Van and installing a port where I can attach a 3" heat hose to pump the heat in and also installing an outside 12 V socket that I can plug in to power it. Then, when I'm not using it, I can unplug it, unplug the hose and drag it all inside the Van. I'm also using a small lean to that will cover it from the elements because these are not waterproof and there are electronics involved. Later down the road, if this works well and I can save up some money, I'm gonna buy a large plastic bin that I can mount on the side of my Van that I've seen some Jeep people do and install it in there and then all I need to do is hook up the hose when I park to camp wherever I am. I think that's the best of all worlds. But for now, just quick and dirty, since it's coming down into the teens in a few days, I'm just gonna set it outside and pipe the heat in and see what happens. I can keep you posted though.

    some reviews on AMZN cited the stainless steel sides of the Elite model warping under high heat, making it tough to get the lid back on. This seemed to happen especially when the wind blows the flame into contact with the sides. Is this something you noticed?

    • @WhyWeLikeIt
      @WhyWeLikeIt  11 месяцев назад +1

      I am glad you brought that up because I have seen some slight bowing on my original and the Elite firecan from prolonged periods of full flames blowing to one side or when I am placing something on top to cook with and it is forcing flames through the sides. You may even see the bow in the video some. It has never affected the way it closes, other than maybe being a little snug. Seems to be something that can just straighten out easily if it would be an issue where it would not close. We use ours for extended periods about every other week for camping adventures and it has never got to a point where it would not close but I could see if its in extreme wind for several hours and flames are being directed into the metal for long periods of time it could distort the metal.

    Niiiice. Don't really get why deluxe has 2 plugins. Less flame is better for grilling?

    • @WhyWeLikeIt
      @WhyWeLikeIt  Год назад

      Hey 👋 Matt, the Deluxe has two because one side is for cooking and one is for firepit mode. Cooking side has a large adjustable air intake, this so the cooking side can get airflow and a blue flame for direct grilling over the flame. Orange flames put off a lot of soot and is not safe to eat when direct cooking.

    • @WhyWeLikeIt
      @WhyWeLikeIt  Год назад

      Also you can cook on any of the firecans if you are using cookware like pots or griddles where the food is not directly coming in contact with the flame 🔥.

    • @WhyWeLikeIt
      @WhyWeLikeIt  Год назад +2

      Great question Adam! I really do think the original checks every box if you don’t need to have a direct grilling insert (and you have seen that with a griddle or a pan you can cook just fine on top of the original or the elite. I have put the original through its paces for sure and love the black finish on it. The original will produce alittle soot from time to time (nothing that a quick wipe out with a rag does not clean up) the elite is 3 pounds lighter if weight is an issue. I love the regulator that comes with the original, it has a lot of adjustment. But I do love the elite because of its look. No matter which you go with I would also recommend looking for sales like Ignik.com had for Labor Day. The Elite was on sale for $185 and the original for $150!

    Can you actually feel the difference in heat output in the elite? I found when using it in colder nights my original fire can can't keep you warm at all

    • @WhyWeLikeIt
      @WhyWeLikeIt  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey 👋 thanks for the question! You are right the original FIRECAN is going to have a lesser flame and heat output. The Elite puts out a lot more BTUs so it’s much warmer plus the elite has a much cleaner flame.
      Now I will say there is a hack if you have the original and want a bigger flame. You can swap out the gas jet for something with a bigger size jet. The original comes with a .86 and I upgraded my jet in the original FIRECAN to a 1.5 (the modded version is not in this video) - the only draw back with a modded original is that it will have some more soot because of the bigger gas jet to air ratio. But a very pretty orange flame.
      I will also say the Elite because of its design there really is no soot so that’s a big plus. I keep the Elite in our Defender at all times with a 10lb propane tank. The original, I still use a lot but more for at home on the patio or hanging with neighbors.
      (Find me on instagram if you want more info on the original FIRECAN mod)

      Thanks for the comment. I have done some mods to the original version of the firecan (this is not seen in the video - the original firecan in the video is stock condition) I found that the original firecan has a swappable gas jet inside the back of the quick disconnect. I was able to buy on Amazon a gas jet orifice kit ( www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1D52V4R?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share ) and I could get a much larger flame 🔥 by swapping out the gas jet!! I swapped it from the .86 original orifice to a 1.5 orifice to give a much higher gas output (please note - this will void any warranty on a product) I have also seen the same mod done by drilling out the original gas jet, but with the kit I could experiment with orifice sizes and return it to original operating conditions if I wanted to.

      The hose connects any propane tank (5LB, 10LB, 20LB, etc - not the green 1 pound cans) to a camp stove or any fitting that normally takes a 1 LB green propane can.
