Full guide on how to build your basketball IQ. This is a step by step process on exactly how to build your court awareness and decision making in games. Watching film is not enough to increase your basketball IQ. It is a complete process that requires film, playing small sided games, playing pick up and learning from your mistakes. You won't build your IQ overnight, but if you follow this process overtime you will boost your on court IQ.

I think a lot of it comes from just being on the court to experience it. Another one of the best ways I found that helped was me and a friend would find basketball clips either nba, overseas, college, etc.. we’d chose which plays to show eachother and then you’d have to tell each person what the right move to do in the situation is, and then a counter for that move on defense. It sounds a bit confusing but it’s basically just film study with friends to pick up on in game scenarios and be able to make the right play at the right time

Definitely on court experience is huge but you can accelerate that through film like you guys are doing. Good stuff

Honestly i think than IQ is the hardest skill to learn because its depend on so many options... But as you say and i think its true the best way is to learn about your mistake and practice, its gonna became a reflex. IQ without practice its just theoric, in reality the game of basketball is to fast to think. Practice side of game again and again, and pass to another side of the read. Really good content ;)

@tjltraining currently, i am figuring out what kind of player i should be to become a pro. Knowing how to lead your team and create plays is important. But there aren't many videos out there that explain how to become such a smart basketball player on a deep level. This video helped get more insight on how i should study film!

Hey coach. I'm a 23 year old, 6ft, 195 lbs basketball player from Greece. I have been playing basketball since I can remember but during the last years I have not played organised ball mainly due to injuries and College. I have lost touch with the sport and now want to go harder than ever so I can join an amateur team near me next year. I need to improve every aspect of my game. I have a lot to catch up on. I'm back on square one. The dream is to play for a pro or semi-pro team in the future but I realise for that to happen I have to be the best player I can possibly be and be better than any of the players on the teams I plan to join in the future. So the goal is to become the best player I can possibly be. Can you suggest an online trainer or online program that will help build myself back up from square one and help me become the best possible player I can be? I have found many online programs but I don't know which is the best for my situation. I appreciate the help.

Hey man! Thanks for the comment. I have a few online programs I think can be good for you but I think depending on your situation getting personalized help would be best. I do train virtually if you were open to doing something like that and wanted personalized workouts

@@tjltraining In your website I don't see any personalised workout program options. Where can I get in touch with you so we can talk pricing etc. and figure out what the best approach would be for my case?
