Oh goodness gracious, great Zentreadi in the sky! It's here! It is here!! But no "pilot" figure is so freaking dumb and totally misleading!¡! This "battle pod" looks nice and fairly innovative with the lights and cockpit opening (back and front! ~). Wonder how this will "scale" with my smallest VF - 1 toys?¿ (the Bandai "Hi - Metal R" line or the Banpresto "Super Valkyrie" or "Valkyrie" ... so many questions, because KitzConcept so rarely explains scale or why things change - what happened to the Zentradi "pilot figure" that was totally indicated was going to be included with this toy"). Thank you so much for the great in-depth size and scale comparisons at 12:17 That well presented information and commentary is truly appreciated, Micronian!!
Yup! This a fantastic toy! Best Regult toy yet! I'm really impressed with the diecast content and the weight is no joke! Scales great with my 1/60 Arcadia and Yamato Valkyries!
H U G E !!! 'Macross' fan!! I Totally remember this from the early/mid-80s, coming home from high-school to watch this show on TV! I have been collecting off-on throughout my mid/late 50s now.... as a-matter-o-fact, I purchased a model of the 1/72 'Battlepod' with the small missile top, electronic, and a Regular "grunt" BP all in the same scale. Planning on building it with a VF-1 within some building diorama..... You know, the scenes of the First battle, On Earth in Macross City!! But This "Toy" Really Rocks!! I'm going to look 'em up, Thanks for the posting!!
I'm glad I preordered the two artillery-pod special when I did. I'm totally psyched that they're doing the recon pod, too! I may just buy another pod just to display in the crouched position. But overall, I'm just glad I now have Valks & Battlepods in the same scale now. I missed out on the HMR line years ago.
Great review! It seems like I've been waiting for this guy forever! I ordered one from BBTS a long time ago...super happy to see they are finally real and seem to have turned out pretty well. Hopefully the pilot figure isn't too far behind. I am overjoyed by KC's humanoid figures and really want some more of them. And yeah...this thing is huge. I guess the advertised specs were correct, lol. I'm surprised it's that heavy, though. As long as it's solid, I won't have any complaints. I think KC has a winner here.
@@ConstantineCydonea I really want to see it succeed! It has a long way to go, though...and it's actually lost some backers in the past day, unfortunately. I honestly think they need to try a new smaller campaign comprised of the Zentraedi soldiers and some of the human characters they have yet to do (Miriya, Gloval, Claudia, etc.). It wouldn't hurt if they could finish off the products already in the pipeline as well (I'm still waiting on my Battle Pod and Max Sterling).
Thanks for the review. This Battlepod looks AMAZING! After all these years it was definitely worth the wait. I will be adding this guy to my collection. Also, I really appreciate the comparison shots.
I was on the fence on purchasing this to go along with my Fugu Model FG-01 but your review has me really wanting to purchase this now. Thanks for your thorough review sir!
Think I may have to pick one up. Although my Veritechs are all 1/100, so I guess I'd need some 1/72 Veritechs as well... Hmm... Could grab that Max and Mirya set... I don't actually have that livery - just a Skull One and Rick/Hikaru's VF-1J... I REALLY wish someone would make some Invid Shock Troopers, but, and least I still have my old Matchbox Invid and that's the right size to pose against the B2Five Cyclones... I do wish more companies made more "Villain" mecha. Sure, as you've noted here, those are treated as accessories for hero mecha, but what's the point of having hero mecha without foes to fight?
I don't wanna tell you this because I still haven't got mine, but.... MEP Toys made a red Invid scout in a small scale, before they stopped working on the toys from the Robotech "license". Good point about the old reliable Matchbox Invid "shock trooper(s)" ! against the B2Five Cyclone ride armor's... Man I tell you, ScorchedEarthToys spoils us when he gets time for these review videos (and his transformation videos too!)
@@wills2140 I have six of the MEP Toys Invid Scouts. If I only had a Riobot 1/48 scale Legioss/Alpha to pose them against! Thank you for the detailed review. When I preordered it, I was under the impression it would come with a zandrati pilot. Unfortunately it doesn't when it is released now😢.
KitzConcept says they are currently designing a Recon version Battlepod and once it's done, they'll design a pilot figure that can fit any type of Battlepod and will ship it out to everyone that purchased it (and presumably also sell it separately).
That would be great. I believe in the Hong Kong toy show, they (KC) were taking preorder for a 3-pod combo with the other two being the large and small missiles version. The Recon is my favorite, so that is certainly good news.
Wow, after how good this figure came out I wouldn't be sad if KC just started focusing on non transforming mecha! I'm super excited to see what they could do with the Battlesuits after this
Awesome review!!! Really enjoyed it! Now if you would be so kind to show how to fit the Micro Zent into the cockpit =) i have one but can't seem to get him to fit lol

12:20 thanks for this lineup, but still seems small for 1/72 scale. While 3.75" figs can fit in, as shown after 11:14, the zendrati should be the same height as the battroid modes... Based on 13:06, I'd probably have this/these with the 1/100 scaled valks... Let's see if these are around for, and part of, Singles Day sales to potentially troop build.
15:46 I remember when you used to mention the original MSRP for figs... any reason you didn't here? Even an explanation as to why you're not mentioning it, or ranges would be nice info to include.
I normally state release date and MSRP in the first couple minutes of a video but I couldn't find the original listing on the Kitzconcept.com website. I talk about it a bit more in the article on anymoon.
Agreed. I would much rather spend less on a figure to get one without all the pointless light up gimmicks, or spend the same to get nicer paint instead of lights. Who actually wants those? Sure they're neat for the 5 minutes you have them on while you take pictures for your Instagram or whatever, but 99.9% of the time the lights will be off anyway because I imagine the batteries don't last that long.

Sans is from Latin
the root is latin, the word is French! I declare us both right.

meh
I disagree
It is incredible that with all that technology applied, they could not design a single power source for the lights.
