When I was 15 years old I ran away from home and landed in Globe of all places. I was immediately taken with the town. I've visited there many times over the years.

In 04 we traveled to Miami to work at the mine from central Illinois I fell in love with globe. So much so that 15 years later I moved to Arizona. I love this place.

Title says Globe but perhaps Broad St. in Miami during its heyday. This parade would have been a big deal that would have brought individuals and families from many miles around.
One of the children here then is likely Harvey Leroy Skeen born in Susanville, Ca. 1924. His father died when he was eight. His widowed mother and six children moved with her into a partially finished wooden house in Miami they were attempting to build. They had to move in as the wood kept being stolen. Harvey graduated from Globe High School in 1941 after which he joined the Navy.
Harvey Leroy Skeen of Miami/Globe - died at 17 years old December 7th 1941. He is still below the decks of the U.S.S. Arizona at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. RIP

I wish they wouldn't have changed scenes so fast, my Grandfather was probably in the crowd. Maybe even my mom.

All that living history of the west, collected for a day. What they could teach us...

I'd put a little old 78 rpm record of either western music recordings or vintage American Indian recordings to this. I love our history, history is not something racist or sexist or hostile, it's just a record of what people did, said and how they behaved and lived, and why the SJWs want to make it all disappear in order to prevent people from feeling hurt (!!??) is just asinine.
HISTORY IS BEAUTIFUL AND REVEALING (even when it's not pleasant. We ARE our PAST!!)

I’m a pilot. For my cross country training as a student I chose Globe as one of my destinations, landing at the nearby San Carlos Apache airport. Here’s my video of flying over the town of Globe as of 2024. ruclips.net/video/YDJjqgRLkNE/видео.htmlsi=rCuoiXWCM7PMdCfu

Good God! Golf is as boring to watch from the 1930s as it is today. 😆

LOL. Nah. I kinda like the " can you miss the jumping cholla" effect here! LOL.And not just 1 sand pit, but the entire desert! Yup, I'm a desert rat not far from Globe/Miami! But really, I agree. Rather watch paint dry!

Also all the adults along with their experiences of struggle. Jack Elam the actor was born in Miami. His mother died and dad had to place Jack for a time with my mother's family in Thatcher, Arizona. Welfare did not exist in those Grapes of Wrath days.
