Very special thank you to the guy who helped with getting the monster out of the water. Appreciate it man you saved the day ! 😃 Normally I would release a fish this size but under the circumstances with the ship coming by and the wake off the ship. There was no way for me to get into the water and revive this fish. The fish would have never made it. the fish was 38 inches and 28.5 pounds

Nice catch Billy...FINALLY..LOL. Everytime I hear "Charlies Pasture", I am reminded of some 25 or 30 years ago the guy that ambushed the cop out there and held off a ton of cops for 2 days. Avoided the helicopter with FLIR and they finally borrowed an armored car and drove up on him and pushed his off button. I was glued to my scanner for 2 days, even missed a day of work.

me and a couple buddies went out to the East Cut out of Port Mansfield Texas for the harvest moon last week for the big bull reds run. we ended hooking up 15 bull reds all 40inches (catch & release) it was an epic night for us. cheers
We went surf fishing on the 18th at Galveston, and there was a moderate amount of seaweed.
Some of our group caught shark, but unfortunately I didn’t get anything except a sunburn. Lol

Nice catch. Trick is to travel light and mobile. Couple rods,bucket and a landing net. Unless Im in the truck and mean to spend the whole day on a jetty or a day/night on the beach then I take the cart and stack up.

Video is messed up for me from 7:21 the frame froze with no audio until 12:XX something, and they video of you holding it and grinning, but no audio. Then the last part of it is goofy with the frozen frame and the audio comes back

Yes this is true. I would have just released him but under the circumstances with the ship passing by and the length of time to get him out and back in would have meant I had to get into water to revive him. Couldn't do it with the wake from the ship passing and did not know how deep the water was off the wall. I usually only keep them at around 20 to 24 inches. This fish was too big for me to keep but had no choice
That's bigger than 28. Hope you put an oversized tag on it.

36 inches and 28 pounds. messed up in video meant 28 pounds not inches.
We were shark fishing on Thursday and there was so much seaweed and waves and the current was so bad it moved our 8 ounce spider weights like nothing… totally unfishable
