I don’t doubt that Liz had a deep love with Lucky when they were in the 90s, but in the 2000s, their relationship was way past the expiration date. From both of them cheating, to him constantly battling low self esteem and insecurity especially around Jason, to Liz trying to boost his self esteem constantly, to her lies also. They were limping along holding onto the nostalgia of their past, all till 2010. They should have let go much sooner.
It should have ended when he returned in 2000 played by JY. He was cruel to her, but she always felt guilty and felt she owed him for helping her after the rape. If they hadn't gone the brainwashing route and if JJ was still Lucky in 2000, I might accept that, but ever since Lucky has treated Liz like crap or blamed her and everyone else for his problems.
I liked young love JJ Lucky, but when he returned and started controlling Liz and then tearing her apart, it wasn't the same. You never forget your first love, but you can move on from it. Jason did w/Robin and she did after Stone died and w/Jason too. Elizabeth and Lucky should have been able to do the same. Robert and Anna have a great relationship/love and are fine not to be romantically involved, the same w/Luke & Laura when he was alive, thy could have handled it the same way w/Liz & Lucky.
I think this is the beginning of the end for Lizabeths marriage you can’t have a cop for a husband but your go to hero is like King of the gangsters lol no never mind what he dose it’s all about what Lizabeth dose she believes in Jason not Shmucky
