I was absolutely in love with this bike when in red. I almost bought this frame, but went with the sl7, spent a lot more, but saved a lot of weight.

Can you check the rim brake version? I believe the top spec rim brake version weigh a lot less
@@dionisiuskusuma1462 is roughly the same. I have a ‘large’ 525 disc version, yet it weighs a lot less thx to Dura-ace DI2, Rotor Cranks, Berk saddle, and lighter Enve wheels.
U should do affordable ones too. I'm sure you will get alot more viewers. Been watching your channel for a week now and i think you are doing well as we can see your passion for bikes. Interested to see you review chinese quality bikes like yoeleo, winspace or even twitter. Eventually you should do a bike build also. 😁

It’s easy to build a bike brand now. Since you no longer need to build a factory. The hardest part is to maintain consistent quality.
Chinese factories will always cut corners and cheat you at every chance they can get. No matter how much high you pay them. The concept of fair price for the quality you paid for, doesn’t culturally agree on how they do business in China.

I just put in an order for the 2020 version under MyMerckx custom program. Can't get any more excited than that after my current stable of EM525, EMX525, ETT, SC Chrono, AXM, and Titane.

I’ve got a 2016-ish Merckx EMX-525, sram red etap with Zipp 303. I’ll send pictures via email this weekend. It’s the last year that they were made prior to a axel selling the brand to Belgian Cycling Factory, which also makes Ridley bikes.
Last year, when AG2R rode Merckx bikes, they were uci registered as the Ridley Helium SLX.

Eddy Merckx bikes are usualy on discount thoughout the year. If I think again, I never saw a single one at RRP.
I have never seen them before except for on hsi website direct but I know there as dealers but doesnt seem as main stream

I like the top tube but the rear looks like ancient cheap bikes. Nice cockpit though, but would have been better if the stem is flushed like the sl7 and you're right about the downtube being too far away from the rear wheels.

The shop I bought my Kestral at had a Merckx for sale but it was too small for me. Nice bikes.
I have not seen a local dealer around me ever, I think they are more popular up north
@@GCPerformance18 I saw it at a Performance Bike shop in Indianapolis. Both shops in the area are now gone.
So the bike is Dogma F12 at the front and at the back it looks like the Ostro factor. Looks pretty good but just too heavy. The price is just barely there. Many greetings Andreas

Merckx doesn't even own the company anymore. I had the 2004 Aluminum Race for a couple of years and I really liked the fit but I got my hands on a Merlin Ti RSR which turned out to be a total piece of shit. I never bought another Merckx because of the seatstays.

That’s a beautiful Ridley, my bad I mean Merckx. Great bikes I had a Mourenx 69 a few years ago. But truthfully they are nothing but an over priced Ridley.

The Belgian cycling factory owns Ridley and Merckx (since 2 years). But if you look at a Ridley Noah Fast pricing, I’m not sure the Merckx is that more expensive tho. I did a custom build myself so I can’t compare. Personally didn’t like the Ridley paint scheme and I’m a sucker for the Merckx brand. Owned every generation of 525 bike, EMX525, EM525 disc, and this one. The ‘real’ Eddy Merckx factory bikes where a bit more special, but I feel like Ridley did a great job making a successor.
Any bike brands since covid are all overpriced 😂 5k should get you di2 already with decent wheels but then you get 105 if you are lucky with crappy wheels 🙃
@@BartSchrijvers the price for a Merckx in the US seems higher than Europe. Or at least when I bought the one I had. It and both of my Bianchis are gone replaced with something that’s higher than giraffe meat.
@@PhiyackYuh Even in the year 2014, when DI2 was neatly integrated and Merckx had a specific 525 frameset for DI2. A DI2 bike was over 5K. In fact, I recall mine costing 6400 euro and it didn't even had carbon wheels! Many bikes always have been this expensive, especially the high-end.
