Everyone who runs in any race should volunteer at least once to give something back. The races couldn't happen without the army of vounteers, helpers and staff behind the scenes. We can only race because of them. Trust me it is weirdly fun volunteering and really get's the mojo going to get you back into running. Stephen, really missed your live streams at the Ark, it really wasn't the same!
thank you for that video , was great , im on my 389th parkrun ( 388 at norwich parkrun ) , but im ashamed to say ive never volunteered , im into my tenth year of taking part , my mental health wld stop me timekeeping or bar code scanning , but the guys that i talk to every week know my situation , this is a massive thank you to everyone who volunteers all over the u.k , you dont really know how much it means to me that you put parkrun on every saturday , cheers guys
Volunteers are from the land of injured runners. I really enjoy volunteering but am guilty of being able to count the times I’ve done it on one hand! Great job 👏
@ I should do more planning and try help. It can be Friday at 9pm before we’ve decided on a location. If I shave a couple of mins off my times I could scan, something new for my videos too 😉
I used to enjoy ParkRun and volunteered 25% of the time. However I did not support the decision to delete 20 years worth of local course and age category records in the so-called name of “inclusion”. It was never broken so why fix it. Obviously the people who run ParkRun decided to push the communist trans movement out of political correctness rather than supporting everyone and protecting women’s sport. It’s disgusting. And everyone who is aware of this and still doing ParkRun is part of the problem: “only following orders” rather than standing up for what is right.
@@jonnyhawkins7744 last week!! But before that was a very long time ago. I started parkrun in 2011 and volunteered 4 times since then. Have been meaning to start volunteering regularly for ages so I have made a commitment to get to 25 in 2025.

I help set ùp beforehand and take down afterwards and still get a run in - best of two worlds !!

This is something I need to do more of. 👌
Yes, I've been on 4 volunteer credits for 14 years!! Time to do something about that
No tech issues. Well done apart from spilling the coffee and dropping the barcoodes.
Cousins, you are a disaster 😂
@@milliejake2 spilled my coffee, dropped the tokens AND injured!
