Glad you are feeling better! What your friend said makes sense…I too notice that I tend to not want to craft when I have too much “life” stuff on my mind. Love the color of your shawl! And best of luck with starting work😊
Hi Carla! So nice to catch up with you. Your Luminous sweater is coming out great. Some sweaters are not meant to be and it was good that you let it go. You tried your best. I agree with one of your viewers, when you get into a knitting/crochet funk, do something small. That’s what I do. I was in the same place as you. So, I made 2 granny square earrings which literally took me 10 minutes for each set. I would be interested in the Cozy Fall MAL. I hope you have a wonderful school year!
Hi Heidi! Thank you so much!! I am much happier with the change in summer tops. I need to catch up with your podcast! How fun that you made granny square earrings!! And I see that you are wearing your Siplia in the picture - it looks great on you!! That has to feel so good to have finished that. Thank you for letting me know about the Fall Cozy swap - stay tuned for more details!! Take care!!😊
Carla, you are always a bright spot that brings sunshine to all of us. I know the back to school feelings well - the anticipation, the excitement, but also the anxiety. You are making a difference in the lives of all of your students! Just yesterday my sister and I were discussing how grateful we are that our parents encouraged and supported us in taking piano lessons when we were kids. We both mentioned that sitting at the piano, playing, brings us peace and enjoyment. ❤ Your top is going to be beautiful, and it would be really cute under a Jean jacket as the weather cools. Count me in for the fall cozy swap! Take Care!
Hi Darcy! Thank you so very much for your kind words-they mean so much to me! I do hope that I can pass on my love of music and piano to the students that I teach so that they can find that enjoyment too. I like your idea of the summer top under a jean jacket😃. And I've got you down for the swap - stay tuned for more information!! Have a wonderful week!❤
Hi Carla. Your summer tee will be great, I’m glad it is going better. So glad to see you again. There are a lot of entries in the Merry Make Along. Have a good semester!
❤❤perfect visit with you ,,Carla,,,,🎉 I am sitting at the garage waiting for my car to have new brakes,,,,have wifi so have ur podcast on and my socks 🧦🧦,,,perfect time ,,, Glad ur feeling better,,,,
Hi Elaine!! Hooray for WiFi at the garage!! I'm so glad you're joining in with the hat make along. Thank you for sharing two hat patterns with me!! Have a great week!!😊
Hi Evie!! I feel like a hit the ground running with the start of the semester yesterday!! But I did manage a couple of hours of knitting still - hooray!!!😄
I'm so glad you found a pattern and yarn combo that is bringing you joy! ❤ I still have a few things to go for Christmas knits, but I'm feeling good about my progress so far. I hope back to school goes well for you, and you have a great week! ❤
Hi Carla! I’m so glad you are feeling better about your work and time for knitting. By the way, your work sounds interesting and also very busy! Three (or more) places that you teach and / or play! I loved seeing all of your progress in your projects and hearing the thoughts going in to making them. I finished a second sock while knitting with you today. Yay! They are a gift for my husband, Jeff, for Christmas. I hope Jenna has a wonderful year at school- and you do too.
Hi Beth!! Thank you!! I do enjoy my teaching and am very blessed that I have a job doing something I love. Hooray for finishing that second sock for your Jeff!! Take care!!❤
I’m so glad you are in a better state of mind! Dishcloths are a great easy project that can get you back to ground zero! I just finished that last Wildflower tee and some socks. I do have a couple of other pairs of socks I could finish up before starting a sweater for myself. I’m also doing a little garment sewing for my granddaughters. As I give the sweaters for their birthdays, I add a skirt to go with it, just a simple elastic waist skirt. And one of my daughters in law requested some simple dresses for their almost 1 yr old so I’m planning 2 or 3 dresses to give with her sweater/skirt combo. I also have a Christmas advent sewing project to jump on and then I need to get back to bag making!! Lots to do!!!! Happy Back to School time!!
Hi Susan!! It sounds like you have so many fun projects in the works!! I love that you are making skirts to go with the wildflower sweaters! Good luck with all of the fun projects you have planned!!❤
I have been knitting since 1966 when I found out I was expecting my first child. After that, life got busy, children, getting my college degree, starting a career and now after 11 years of retirement I can spend all my free time knitting. I too have to be knitting, the day is not right if I don’t spend a good share of it knitting. Thank you for your podcast, your enthusiasm is contagious.
Hi Patricia!! Thank you for sharing a bit about your knitting background. I am so happy to know someone else who needs to be knitting each and every day!! ❤
Carla I love how your shawl is coming out! Perfect yarn and pattern combo! Can't wait for the hat challenge! I have so many I want to cast on! We will be going to the ranch so I may or may not get lots or none done depending 😬 😅
Hi Leslie!! Thank you!! I am looking forward to casting on a hat too!! I want to knit so many scrappy ones - I'm just itching to cast on! Have fun at the ranch this weekend!!😃
Hi Carla, So pleased that you are feeling batter about your knits. When you said 'the sweater that shall not be named' I laughed out loud. My Shawl of the same name is on vacation this week, even thought it is going well. Have you seen the Salish Cap, $3:00, by Mary Pranica? Kevin (NATR) has made several and every hat looks different. It's made with two strands of fingering held together. I have one OTN, simple and in the round, right up my alley. It's great to hear you've found a pattern for your gift yarn . Our weather is headed back into summer , poof. It won't take long for you to settle back into school. Take care of you.....See you soon.
Hi Candee!! I'm glad that your 'shawl that shall not be named' is going well.😆 Thank you for sharing the Salish Cap - I had not seen that pattern before, but it has been promptly added to my favorites!! Our weather was super HOT the last two days; summer still has it's hold on us. I am soooo looking forward to fall! Take care!!❤
I'm glad you are happier with making the summer top now, that is such a beautiful color. Thanks for highlighting my Arboreal sweater. I ended up frogging my Mount Juliet shawl and decided after reorganizing my stash that I will cast on a Feather pullover. There's a hat pattern called the Skeleton Key slouch (I think 🤔) that made years ago for a relative that I've been wanting to make for myself, I really love the look of it. I've also cut back on how many WIPs I have going, it also seems things get done faster 😂 hahaha ❤ Hope you have a wonderful week 😊
Hi Lisa!! I am much happier with the summer top. Your sweater is absolutely beautiful!! I the Feather pullover by Melissa LaBarre? It looks so pretty!! I looked up the Skeleton Key slouch - oh, what a beautiful hat!!! That immediately went into my favorites!! Thank you so much for sharing!!😃
Thank you for another enjoyable episode! My favorite hat pattern is the Baggy Hat by Petite Knit, but I've always wanted to knit the Scrappy Marl Hat too. :)
It is still technically Summer until September 22! Even up here in Wisconsin, we will have 80 degree days well into September; sometimes October. I once went on a “fall colors” hike in upper Michigan when it was 85 degrees in October. 🥵 All that to say - I am finishing up a lace yoke top that I expect to wear yet this month.
Yes!!! It is still summer and I agree it can feel like it well into October and maybe even a couple days in November! Good luck finishing up your top!! 😊
Hi Sandy!! That's great that you plan to work on gifts throughout the year!! I think that makes the holidays much more manageable and enjoyable!! Take care!!😊
I’m suddenly getting ads in your podcast (3 this time). Wonder what’s changed? Maybe I’ll finally need to move up from the free version of RUclips 😁 Glad your knitting funk is gone and maybe that crochet sweater just needs a different yarn to get you closer to gauge. Don’t give up on it as it’s a beautiful pattern.
@@sharonkeane4614 Hi Sharon! I’ve finally reached the number of subscribers and watch hours to monetize my channel. I hope it isn’t too bothersome! I’m definitely enjoying the summer top that I’m working on. Maybe I’ll revisit the crochet sweater in the future.😁Take care!!😊
