We finally made it out to Chaumont Bay!! Home of massive walleye and HUGE PERCH!!!
This one part of Lake Ontario is over 9,000 acres just by itself!
Chaumont Bay is awesome, but it can be a bear to tackle. Where to we go? What do we use? Should we get a guide? What will the weather be? All legitimate and very important questions we help you answer.
We also had few firsts while we were there and some wild weather that made things very interesting.
Thanks for watching!!

Thanks for sharing your experience. You obviously know your stuff and are very passionate about it. Will be following your channel. Take care.
Thanks for watching! i wish i had learned more on that trip. but i wanted to at least share what i knew for the next guy. have you ever fished in lake Ontario
@@RogersRigs No just Lake Erie around Port Clinton and Sandusky Ohio. Excellent walleye fishing.
yes! i heard the good old days is now when it comes to lk erie walleye!
I have a camp near Chaumont bay, in the Guffin Bay. It's cool to see someone talk about it
Awesome! How is the perch and walleye fishing in Guffin? do you ice fish there too? it sure is a interesting corner of the Sate
@@RogersRigs walleye and perch are pretty good there, and I only go up in the summer. In the winter, I’m down in Syracuse skiing lol
ha ha, yeah its a strong fishery. have you gotten into Big perch or is it a lot of sorting through small ones?
@@RogersRigs i never caught many perch more walleye for me, but a lot of others catch a lot of perch
Chaumont native here, prism effect w sun makes distance weird. Nice cisco!(whitefish)
Interesting! yeah i got all messed up out there visually. do you guys have any ice this year? over on this side of the adirondacks, we are just getting fishable water now
@@RogersRigs yup, nice perch at long pt. Sloppy right now but freezing hard
My cottage is in chamount. been going there my whole life, about 35 years, my dads been going for 60
have you gotten into the jumbo perch?
That's a ciscoe, not whitefish
THANKS. I just looked up the difference. I've caught ciscoe in Lake george before but much smaller. it was not bad eating.
Sounds like a crazy trip but always fun adventuring with some friends regardless.
Yeah we had fun! but not exactly what we has planned.
I e gone there multiple times, went to camp once and had 30mph winds and had to call it. But love the walleye there got my pb hanging on my wall 29” roughly 11-12 lbs
that is a monster! have you even found a big school of perch?
I perked up when I heard you say, "your theory is..." Lol Looked like some seriously extreme conditions.
Ha ha ha. yes there is always a theory!
sounds like a huge adventure , my son has friends on a river that feeds into lake of the woods. her husband did guide work for awhile,
was telling me he knows spots that are 28 miles out. not my type of fishing. missed this one live was doing some sawdust therapy , catch ya one the next one
Oh boy, that sounds like a fun adventure!!!! we did a little sawdust therapy here too, building the kids a treehouse
Great video and a sweet adventure. Loved the story with it to funny. I'm sure next year if you get out will be better now that you have that one under your belt. lol
I hope so! it was really a fun trip. but there is a steep learning curve over there!
I've never fished Lake Ontario, but one thing's for sure, when it comes to having a passion for the outdoors, you're the real deal. lol I just got done tying up a couple of your rigs and when some of this snow melts, I'll be trying them out on Lake George for some perch.
Thanks Chip! i hope LG is fishable after this snow. i still have my shanty out there!!!
@@RogersRigs Play it smart and as always, be safe. I heard the shoreline ice was getting pretty sketchy at Hearthstone back on Thursday.
Great video you were spot on on many things I have learned in the past two years. I only make the trip once a year and definitely worth doing a longer than two day trip like you said.
Thanks for watching! yeah i did not get up there this year but my buddies did pretty well. have you even hit a major perch bite? that was what i am after.
@@RogersRigs yes this year on the windiest day was on fire. Had to pick threw them.
There I fish there all the time
is there any ice there yet this year? do you get into those big perch?
I call this “appreciate what you have at home” fishing. Meaning, outside the fun and adventure aspect you have this at home... When I ice fished on Lake Ontario it was in July... And we put our fish on ice. Regardless, I gotta love the enthusiasm! Great times getting away!! Except for that poor guy’s look at 6:35 after stepping outside and seeing that pike! LOL Great Vid!
PS: One way they walleye fish out here...

Well said! the grass is greener over here was out conclusion. but it was a fun adventure
that is the way to do it!!! i wish they were around here like that. i guess they used to be!
That was more than a fishing trip@@RogersRigs... Grab them while you can!!
