Very nice toy. I like the mechanical linkage for the steering. The car looks like it's a Honda S500, and I think the character driving it is probably Astro Boy. Made by Bandai I would guess, early to mid 60s. CORRECTION The driver is an anime character called Big X, AKA Akira Asagumo.
Hi John , Thanks for fixing the Bix X Honda! Big X is a science fiction manga series and an anime series by Osamu Tezuka, based on actual experiments conducted by the Nazis to create secret weapons toward the end of World War II. The anime, which was Tokyo Movie's first work, is considered lost, with only episodes 1, 11-12, 14, and 40-59 known to survive. He is Japan's counterpart to captain America. I bought the toy because of the box & because someone had told me they had a better example of the toy but that's yet to surface. If I would have thought of it I would have looked for a donor honda car for the missing hubcaps & better wheels.

Thank you. Ask me later today and I might have forgotten again.

Thank you Ozzy for the information on the toy. I never know if I have just forgotten or if I never knew. Now I know.
Beautiful litho on the car!
Lucky 🍀 on finding parts
Alot of toys to fix.
I have a big room full of vintage toy parts, been collecting for 50 years.
@@Robothut talk about vision for the future 😎👍
My brother had a similar toy with the same kind of remote. I remember steering it around but I can't remember what the vehicle looked like.
I know what you mean, so many vintage toys had cable control systems. Never took to lang for a child to put a bend in the cable.
Yes, they were a bit fragile for kids toys sometimes.
4:07 That is not kanji, that is written in katakana. For that matter, that “7” is in fact a katakana letter, not a number 🙂
Very interesting. I had no idea. Thank you for the information.
My memory is about as long as my you know what 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂i know the feeling 😂😂
Sad but true.
