    I'm from a small town in Texas. We help and take care of our neighbors. Period. Full stop. Bad behavior is egregious and should never be tolerated. 99.99% of the time tight-knit communities don't care about color. It's about respecting each other, and living our life, taking care of our kids and making ends meet.

      @poeticiamar4379 is that the mostly peaceful protests that rioted, burned down your neighbor's businesses? Did neighbor's do that or did they bus people in?

    It always depends to where you live and what your community accepts. When I was around 18 there were no drugs in my town. (4000 capita). After our youth-community (150 teens) split up by marriage or anything else the drug-business and other shit grew up. Now I live in a small village. (800 capita, 70% hunters). Try it ina small town! 😉

    There are no two sides of the line "Round here we take care of our own". He's talking about the people in the town watch out for each other. The reference to the gun is about the government "rounding them up" and trying to take away the second amendment

    Expresses yourself? Absolutely! I am all for that. I am very patriotic. That’s doesn’t mean I love our government because let’s keep it 💯 they’re corrupt BUT you can have the or disk like the government but still love your country. So the disrespecting of the flag is never okay to me. Protests are how we the people make our displeasure known and it’s our right to do so but the clips in this video aren’t that. These clips are criminals and foolery.
    It is actually against the law to burn the American flag. It’s not against the law to protest. What we all saw and witnessed wasn’t protests it was rioting and criminality.
    I am a passive and compassionate person by nature but I would have to be arrested and become a fool and criminal if someone tried to burn a flag near me.
    My dad served in Vietnam and it cost him his life. If people can’t protest and act like they’ve got some dang sense then what do they think they’ll ever accomplish? Nothing.
    Burning the American flag isn’t a freedom of expression. It’s actually a criminal act and a slap in the face to service men & women who have some and especially to those who have all.
    Find another way to express displeasure than robbing a small town jewelry store, or a small liquor store, or burning the flag.

    I'm not denying your experience, just remember that cops aren't the only ones to blame for the rise in tensions. Civilians, of any colour, bear just as much blame.
    That cop wanted to go home at the end of his shift too, but he never knows when someone might shoot him just to avoid a speeding ticket.
    Also gotta remember the horrors most cops witness on a daily basis. Look how people act on social media to relatively minor offensive acts, with the whole "humanity has to go" bandwagon, and then multiply that by a hundred for some of the things cops are _forced_ to witness as part of their job.

    • @poeticlamar4379
      @poeticlamar4379  11 месяцев назад +1

      I understand, I have family members that are cops. I’ve experienced both sides. However, they made the decision to become police officers. They weren’t forced. So it’s like a doctor that works in the trauma center. You see a lot of things, experience a lot of different traumas. However you made the oath to uphold and protect me. If you are not mentally capable of separating your truth from the reality of your job then you shouldn’t be in that profession.
